AbacusNext Risks and Challenges

The market for legal practice management applications market has changed considerably since Gavel&Gown came on the scene in 1993. Low-priced alternatives from new and existing Cloud competitors are likely to undercut the appeal of Amicus Cloud especially with Gavel&Gown's reliance on its consultants, whose profitability could be on the line when it comes to Cloud sales. The good news is that Gavel&Gown has succeeded in migrating 100,000 current user licenses from its traditional desktop version to Amicus Cloud. Migrating the other 150,000 will take more time because some may still be running older versions that are based on legacy databases such as Visual Foxpro.
