SCORES Analysis

ABB’s Enterprise Software Group Strengths

The Enterprise Software product group within ABB combines the strengths of recognized brands across the Asset Lifecycle with the unmatched expertise derived from ABB’s 50+ years in real time control. As the only industrial enterprise software solution provider with a combined IT/OT offering, ABB and its select partner ecosystem work seamlessly to execute best of breed solutions for most critical business objectives.

Ventyx was acquired in 2010 by ABB for its broad range of IT solutions for energy and communications companies. In 2012, Ventyx joined forces with Mincom, a pioneer in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for mining, transportation and defense. Pairing the strengths of both companies under ABB Enterprise Software product group offers an unparalleled range of innovative solutions that minimize risk, optimize operations to enhance financial performance and empower clients in dynamic industries to evolve in smart new ways.

In 2014, Ventyx announced availability of its asset performance software portfolio for managing assets, operations and smart grid analytics in a hybrid or full-cloud model. Ventyx chose to host the software in Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform due to Microsoft’s broad use throughout the utility industry, and will deliver the application as a service through Ventyx’s Managed Services Group.
