Buck Global Recent Developments
In April 2021, Buck launched its environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) dashboard for U.K. pension schemes. In addition to showcasing scheme-specific ESG data, the dashboard will allow schemes to begin meeting the compliance requirements set out in the Pensions Schemes Act 2021, which passed into law on 11th February 2021.
A couple of days before the ESG Dashboard announcement, Buck launched its Delta+™ platform in the U.K. to help employers improve employee engagement, productivity, and efficiency in the ongoing administration of their benefits programmes.
In 2019, Buck launched digital workforce solution suite, the new portfolio encompasses three distinct service offerings: bEngaged, provides a single interface that gathers data from multiple client systems; bEnabled, provides tools for end users to make informed decisions on their benefits and rewards programs, and bEquipped, which offers employers an aggregated view of its people analytics, spanning financial, workforce, healthcare, diversity, and engagement data.
Buck Global Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
In May 2021, Buck acquired strategic employee communications firm, Caburn Hope. After a transition period, the organisation will form part of Buck’s existing communications consultancy in the U.K., Concert, a Buck company. As part of the company’s growth and commitment to providing top-level services to clients, in 2021 Buck expanded its member engagement offering with the acquisition of Concert Consulting, a digitally-focused pensions and employee benefits communications firm, in November 2020. The addition of the team, now named Concert, a Buck company, offers Buck clients access to a market-leading strategic communications consultancy, alongside its existing services and solutions. Combining both organic and acquisitional growth, Buck increased its U.K. headcount by 8.5% over the course of the last year to 734 colleagues.

In May 2021, Buck was selected by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) to provide a range of retirement, actuarial, and Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) consulting services. BCBSAZ offers health insurance and related services to more than 1.9 million customers.
Since launching as an independent business in August 2018, Buck has seen a strong demand for its services across retirement, investment consulting, pensions administration, and employee benefits with 36 new clients won over the course of 2019, including BASF, Visa (U.K.), Tokio Marine Kiln, and WCF. Clients consistently cited innovative technology solutions and superior member experience as reasons Buck was selected.
Buck Global Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In September 2021, – Buck announced the official formation of its U.S. public sector group, including new hires and the promotion of several key leaders. The public sector group will bring together cross practice teams with deep experience in serving the health, wealth, communications, and compliance needs of Buck’s clients.
In June 2021, Buck, completed a £50 million buyout transaction for the Cambridge-based, Ridgeon Group Pension and Life Assurance Scheme. The transaction secures the benefits for approximately 230 pensioners and 300 deferred members.
