Ceridian Strengths, Domain Expertise, and Key Differentiators
Since its acquisition of Dayforce in 2012, Ceridian has rapidly expanded Dayorce from its origins in payroll and workforce management (WFM) into a feature-rich cloud platform for HCM with functionality spanning HR, payroll, benefits, WFM, and talent management. Built as a single application from the ground up, Dayforce combines modern, consumer-grade user experience with proprietary application architecture, including a single rules engine and a single data set that spans the entire application. The Dayforce architecture enables differentiating capabilities such as real-time reporting and continuous calculation of employee net pay whenever a time, benefits, or HR record is changed.
Ceridian Recent Developments
In October 2021, Ceridian deploy Dayforce HR service delivery, an end-to-end employee solution that provides immediate, always-on HR and compliance support.
Based on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), Dayforce HR Service Delivery is continually learning and evolving to deliver a reimagined employee experience in an increasingly remote and fluid workplace. Answers to employee questions are provided through a simple search function that matches employees’ expectations in their private lives.
In May 2020, Ceridian launched Dayforce Wallet – an on-demand pay solution. Dayforce Wallet leverages the Dayforce platform’s unique continuous calculation capabilities for an accurate, on-demand payment, instead of an approximation of earnings. It disrupts the antiquated concept of a fixed pay period – allowing people to be paid in real-time, at any time.
The launch comes at a time when making ends meet is of heightened concern, with many individuals across income levels and employment types living paycheck to paycheck. Using the Dayforce Wallet app, employees can request a payout of their earnings whenever they need it. They can also manage their finances, check their balance, and track their transaction history.

This unique capability is the foundation upon which Ceridian is building the on-demand pay functionality of Dayforce, which became be available in 2019.
With a growing number of employees experiencing financial challenges and living paycheck to paycheck, companies today are more mindful of how financial pressures impact employee well-being and productivity. Dayforce On-Demand Pay will enable employees to request a payout of their earned wages when needed, in advance of a formal pay period.
