Demandbase Strengths, Domain Expertise, and Key Differentiators
Demandbase Recent Developments
In November 2021, Demandbase breaks ground with new Audience Management Destinations for Demandbase One that brings the power of account intelligence to social advertising. B2B marketers will be able to reach account-based targets on traditionally consumer platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, YouTube, Bing, and Adobe, as well as an expanded integration with LinkedIn. This new functionality is yet another way Demandbase enables marketers to personalize the buying experience, recognizing that members of an account-based buying committee are individuals, as well as business professionals. Today’s announcement is part of Demandbase’s mission to transform how B2B companies go to market, with Demandbase One as the essential orchestration hub. Demandbase’s new Destinations will enable customers to use selectors, first-party data, third-party data, intent, technographic, activities, and more to define an audience in Demandbase, then specifically target those buyers across the business and social web. The end result is a highly consistent customer experience across social networks and other platforms.
Demandbase Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
In May 2021, Demandbase acquired InsideView and DemandMatrix, a provider of technographic data and intelligence. Both acquisitions will significantly expand the Demandbase One B2B Go-To-Market Suite, which the company unveiled in November 2020, to provide users with a comprehensive understanding of accounts and the ability to take action across multiple channels. Together, the companies will empower Demandbase to offer the new Data Cloud and Sales Intelligence Cloud solutions on top of existing offerings — ABX Cloud and Advertising Cloud.
In June 2020, Demandbase acquired Engagio. Both companies focus on account-based marketing (ABM), an approach where marketing and sales coordinate their outreach to specific, high-value accounts. As a result of the acquisition, Miller will become chief product officer at Demandbase, while his co-founder Brian Babcock becomes chief technology officer.

Demandbase Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In September 2021, Demandbase released its Data Cloud Trending Skills solution which uses technographics to track the changes in target accounts’ tech stacks. By revealing trends in accounts’ overall approach to tech architecture, customers gain insight into potential future investments in technology — or movements away from technology. This arms them with timely knowledge that can be used to tailor communications and offers to their accounts’ specific situations, and to understand changes and trends that are a precursor to the adoption of their products. The Demandbase Trending Skills solution is part of Demandbase Data Cloud. It was designed to help provide an understanding of the changes in an account’s tech stack in the recent and previous quarters. These changes can then be correlated to investments in new technology and software solutions or signal a change in an account’s overall approach to tech architecture. To date, Trending Skills has tracked more than 1.1 million domains and 16,000 technologies on a quarterly basis.
Demandbase Risks and Challenges
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the economy and put unprecedented strains on governments, health care systems, educational institutions, businesses, and individuals around the world. The impact and duration of the COVID-19 pandemic are difficult to assess or predict. It is even more difficult to predict the impact on the global economic market, which will depend upon the actions taken by governments, businesses, and other enterprises in response to the pandemic. The pandemic has already caused and is likely to result in further, significant disruption of global financial markets and economic uncertainty. Adverse market conditions resulting from the spread of COVID-19 could materially adversely affect its business. The companies customers or potential customers, particularly in industries most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including the retail, restaurant, hotel, hospitality, consumer discretionary, airline, and oil and gas industries and companies whose customers operate in impacted industries, may reduce their technology or sales and marketing spending or delay their sales transformation initiatives as a result of the pandemic, which could materially and adversely impact Demandbase business.
