The Company looks at its acquisition strategy as an efficient way to further expand its reach in the insurance sector and also as an effective utilization of the operating cash generated from its business. Focusing on insurance applications, Ebix addresses all four of its revenue channels—exchanges, broker systems, BPO services and carrier systems.


In addition to selling applications that automate the back-end functions of insurance brokers and carriers, Ebix operates an on-demand software exchange that handles more than $100 billion in insurance premiums. The exchange allows subscribers to automate, expedite, and improve business processes within the life insurance, annuity, property&casualty, and health insurance segments.


EbixExchange enables CRM solutions, order-entry platforms, quoting engines, risk administration tools, loss reporting compliance, and data transformation solutions. The electronic straight through processing EbixExchange supports insurance agencies, brokerage and clearing firms, and operations centers at over 100 of the biggest carriers and their affiliates. Its BPO division is involved in generating insurance certificates for construction and housing industry.


In November 2015, Ebix completed a restructuring of its international operations with the formation and establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary, Ebix International Holdings Limited, a private limited company incorporated under the laws of England, and the subsequent contribution of all of Ebix's underlying foreign subsidiaries in Sweden, Australia, Singapore, India, New Zealand, Latin America, Canada, Mauritius, and New Zealand to this newly formed entity.


Effective September 1, 2015 Ebix and Independence Holdings Corporation ("IHC") formed a joint venture named Ebix Health Solutions, LLC ("EbixHealth JV"). This joint venture was established to promote and market a best practices administration data exchange for health and pet insurance lines of business nationally.
