EMC is enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver information technology as a service (ITaaS). Fundamental to this transformation is cloud computing. Through innovative products and services, EMC accelerates the journey to cloud computing, helping IT departments to store, manage, protect and analyze their most valuable asset - information - in a more agile, trusted and cost-efficient way.

 

In addition to its storage and virtualization products, EMC offers document management applications through its Documentum division. Some of the Documentum are being offered via EMC OnDemand private cloud deployment model.

EMC manage its company as a federation of businesses, each of which plays a vital role in the transformation of IT: EMC Information Infrastructure and VMware Virtual Infrastructure, which together provide infrastructure-as-a-service; and Pivotal, which provides platform-as-a-service and application development. Together, these businesses enable customers to build cloud-based infrastructures for existing applications while at the same time helping customers build and run new applications.

 

EMC Information Infrastructure business consists of three divisons: Information Storage, Enterprise Content Division and RSA Information Security.
