In 2014, sales to its existing customers represented almost two-thirds of its increased revenues, while net new accounts contributed the rest. On a dollar basis, contributions to its net revenue gain from existing customers jumped from $17 million in 2013 to $31 million in 2014, while those from net new accounts stayed flat at $15 million despite from a smaller base (1000 in 2013 vs. 794 in 2014) during the period. That suggested that Marketo has been able to sell a lot more to its existing customers, while fetching a higher premium from its net new accounts as well.
