Opower Strengths

Opower offers Cloud applications that enable utilities better engage customers around energy usage and savings opportunities. Opower is a web-based service that integrates with utility billing data - both legacy data and new smart meter data - and provides improved analytics, more effective communication mechanisms, and aims to drive savings behavior.

Similar to most billing applications, Opower allows a utility to deliver usage data to a customer, either through traditional paper bills, a web portal, or mobile device, comparing usage data to neighborhood averages and offering conservation tips.

In March 2016, Opower announced Opower 7, the newest generation of its customer engagement platform. The upgrade includes a significantly expanded set of advanced business intelligence tools that let utility managers draw useful, actionable insights from their ever-growing pool of customer data.
