In September 2020, Santos, an Australian energy pioneer and one of the leading independent oil and gas producers in Asia-Pacific, has selected P2 Energy Solutions to provide a single, comprehensive platform for its production needs in the region. Under a new partnership, P2 will deliver an integrated production data analysis system supporting Santos to supply the energy needs of homes, businesses, and major industries across Australia and Asia. The new system, powered by P2’s industry-leading software, will include manual and automated data capture, trending, analytics, diagnostics, and surveillance of key assets and infrastructure, with sophisticated reporting and dashboarding – all in one production platform environment.
In 2014, P2 Energy acquired Merrick Systems, a provider of production management and field operations software.
In December 2011, P2 acquired Beyond Compliance for SaaS-delivered automated compliance management solutions. The acquisition enables P2 to expand its Health, Safety and Environmental compliance offerings. Over the past few years, P2 has been providing operators with regional solutions that are specific to their needs from shale gas opportunities to better data integration. P2 Energy Solutions sells a range of financial and accounting management software, geospatial data, land asset management tools, well lifecycle management solutions and outsourcing services to both the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors as well as the alternative energy industry. P2 was started in 1999 when a group of investors established Petroleum Place Energy Advisors and bought the Oil and Gas Asset Clearinghouse.
In 2003, Petroleum Place merged Paradigm, Novistar (formerly Oracle Energy), and business process outsourcing firm Petroleum Financial, Inc. to form P2 Energy Solutions. The next couple of years P2 grew rapidly through acquisitions including Explorer Software for land management and WellPoint Systems for enterprise asset management, riding the energy boom in Canada, Australia and other remote places. Eighty percent of the top 150 US energy companies, 91 of the top 100 Canadian operators, and nearly 200 international operators run P2 applications.
In 2000, Petroleum Place purchased Paradigm Technologies for its accounting solution Excalibur.
