QAD provides enterprise software applications for leading global manufacturing companies. QAD applications are designed to simplify the management and enhance the efficiency of manufacturing and supply chain operations both within and beyond the enterprise, enabling manufacturers throughout the world to transact and collaborate with their customers, suppliers and partners.

 

Though many USA-based companies claim to be global, QAD, with 56% of its revenue from outside of North America, is truly global. QAD supports as many languages as any other ERP vendor, and offers one of the most flexible financial solutions for manufacturers that are dealing with multi-GAAP, IFRS and other complex financial reporting requirements, and includes 46 distinct country-specific localizations.

 

QAD subscription revenue increased in North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions and decreased in Latin America region during calendar 2015 when compared to the same period last year. The increase in subscription revenue was primarily due to sales of QAD Cloud ERP product offering which represented over 80% of total subscription revenue in fiscal 2016 and 2015. QAD Cloud ERP revenue consists of new customers, QAD customers converting from on-premise and additional users and modules purchased by existing cloud customers.

 

In fiscal 2016 QAD North America region generated approximately 65% of its global cloud revenue while its Asia Pacific, EMEA and Latin America regions generated approximately 15%, 14% and 6%, respectively. Cloud revenue by industry for fiscal 2015 was approximately 41% in automotive, 18% in consumer products and food and beverage, 16% in high technology and industrial products and 25% in life sciences. The expansion has been due to net new customers, and customers going through on premise to cloud conversions. For example, Dana now has nearly 500 users accessing QAD Cloud ERP regularly from six sites in Mexico.

 

QAD has acquired three companies in the last eight years but has kept them as separate divisions because of the markets they serve.

 

CEBOS, QAD’s most recent addition, makes quality management software mainly geared toward the same manufacturing verticals QAD focuses on plus Aerospace. QAD purchased Michigan-based CEBOS for $5 million in 2012. Just prior to adding CEBOS, QAD bought DynaSys, a Strasbourg, France-based supply chain management software firm for $7.5 million.

 

In 2006, QAD acquired Precision Software, a global logistics software firm headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, for $14.5 million.
