SDL Recent Developments

SDL launched SDL Trados Studio 2021, translation solution offering flexibility for busy translators and project managers. This version of the industry’s leading Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tool combines the power of SDL’s desktop software with access to the cloud-based translation and project management capabilities of SDL Trados Live.

Earlier in 2020, SDL launched its intelligent content platform, SDL Tridion. The platform is designed to assist organizations with their digital transformation by addressing the full spectrum of single source content for employees, partners and customers, substantially increasing automation and bridging content silos.

In June 2019 SDL introduced its latest machine translation (MT) innovation with the addition of new Adaptable Language Pairs to SDL Machine Translation, enabling brands to tune their own language pairs to any project, department or industry.

From October 2017, SDL Enterprise Translation Server is available on AWS Marketplace. This allows AWS Marketplace customers to easily incorporate machine translation for projects to solve the challenge of translating large volumes of content in short periods of time.

In July 2018, SDL completed the acquisition of the business and assets of Donnelley Language Solutions. SDL Ecosystem, Partners, Resellers and SI

In June 2020, SDL partnered with parson AG, to help European brands deliver multilingual communications within a structured content environment. The partnership will combine SDL Tridion Docs, the industry’s leading component-based content management system (CCMS), with parson’s deep expertise in structured content delivery and strategy.

Since May of 2020, SDL Translation Management System (TMS) is integrated with the Veeva Vault RIM Suite, a cloud-based Regulatory Information Management (RIM) system. Veeva Systems supports world’s largest pharmaceutical and Life Sciences companies.

SDL operates a global network of 54 offices in 38 countries, employing 4300 employees. It has a partner network of 300 partners and growing.

SDL began a public-private partnership project with Centrum Wiskunde; Informatica (CWI) to improve cloud-based software for marketing purposes. In this joint project both CWI and SDL contribute to the research budget. The goal of the current research project is to develop an automatic monitoring system for cloud applications to support the decision process for allocating server space from the cloud to applications.
