SCORES Analysis

Symphony EYC Strengths

After spending years of selling into the retail and distribution vertical, Aldata transformed itself by merging with EYC, a big data management specialist, in December 2012 to form Symphony EYC. The new organization brings together EYC’s sophisticated customer engagement analytics with the proven, high performance retail and distribution optimization capabilities of Aldata. Symphony GOLD is experiencing strong demand for its recently launched, next-generation, cloud-based i2e Category Management Suite. Earlier in April, the organization further expanded its Merchandising and Category Management capabilities with the acquisition of Fifth Dimension to help retailers and CPG manufacturers optimize space and assortment planning decisions through the use of advanced store planning, 3D store and product visualization solutions.

In March 2016, Symphony EYC announced GOLD Flow Optimization, a new automated modeling and simulation tool that helps optimize supply chain performance and total cost to serve. By comparing actual and simulated network, cost and parameters, GOLD Flow Optimization helps accelerate the supply chain decision-making process by identifying the scenario offering the most relevant business benefits.

In December 2015, Symphony GOLD launched new Vendor Portal, an on-line collaboration tool to streamline Retailer / Supplier operations.

In January 2014, Symphony EYC introduced Symphony EYC Insights 2 Execution, a new Cloud-based category collaboration platform that enables retailers and CPG manufacturers to adopt best practices in category management. The platform’s initial release, iAssort, provides users with browser-based access to their information to effectively build strategic localized assortments that are space aware.

Symphony EYC is a strategic partner to more than 1000 retailers, manufacturers and wholesalers worldwide, offering sophisticated customer analysis services and the industry-leading G.O.L.D. unified retail platform. The breadth of Symphony EYC solutions and services optimize profitability by delivering highly targeted product assortments across all channels supported by reliable and responsive retail operations and supply chain execution.

The company’s goal is to create a unified omni-channel for customer experience by aligning strategy and planning development, marketing, merchandising and purchasing operations, inventory management, and supply chain productivity. Symphony EYC has invested heavily in CRM and analytics technology. The company works on customer behavioral analytics to provide insights for merchants and category managers as part of its “Customer Insights” solutions. This allows retailers to pinpoint effective pricing and promotion opportunities to drive customer loyalty. Manufacturers can utilize Symphony’s cloud based platform to collaborate more effectively with retail partners to meet customer demand.
