Tableau Strengths
Tableau produces a family of interactive data visualization products focused on business intelligence.
Tableau currently offer five key products: Tableau Desktop, a self-service, powerful analytics product for anyone with data; Tableau Server, a business intelligence platform for organizations; Tableau Online, a hosted software-as-a-service ("SaaS") version of Tableau Server; Tableau Public, a free cloud-based platform for analyzing and sharing public data; and Vizable, a free iOS application used to easily analyze data on a tablet.
In October 2015, Tableau announced Vizable, an entirely new mobile application designed to help people see and understand data with just an iPad.
APAC is a key region for Tableau.
In 2015 the company opened its first office in Shanghai, accompanying its existing offices in Tokyo and Singapore.
In 2016, Tableau opened its first office in Beijing.
In March 2016, Tableau announced the general availability of Tableau 9.3 with new ways to analyze data and share findings faster.
Powerful features include the new “always connected” Tableau Desktop, improved global map coverage, faster ways to prepare data for analysis, more governance features and easier administration and direct connectivity to the Snowflake Elastic Data Warehouse.
Tableau have partnerships with Microsoft Azure and AWS to host Tableau Server in the public cloud.
The integration with AWS enables organizations to quickly deploy Tableau Server to any AWS region in minutes.
Additionally, Tableau connects natively to over 40 different data source types, including Cloudera Hadoop, Amazon Redshift, Teradata and Microsoft SQL.
For most of these, customers can connect directly without having to download the data locally.
Tableau also provides an in-memory option with the Tableau Data Engine.

Research Methodology
Data used in research reports are derived from publicly available documents, continuous surveys of applications vendors, customers, resellers, Independent Software Vendors, systems integrators and other verifiable sources.
Vendor shares and market forecast results are based on a combination of existing databases as well as demand side and supply side research conducted throughout the year with validation from vendors, customers, channel partners and documentations such as earnings releases and 10Q and 10K filings, vertical industry studies, regional and country-level statistics from public and private institutions(i.e. colleges, universities, government agencies and trade associations).
