In April 2020 Yellowfin released version 9.1 of its BI solution, which further enhances the user experience of analysts, developers, and business users in Yellowfin’s action-based dashboards, data storytelling, and reporting.
New enhancements include Yellowfin Signals, which employs advanced capability that automatically identifies critical changes in the data and surfaces those changes to users so they do not miss a thing. Signals can now be added to dashboards using the new customizable Signals widget. The widget can be filtered to show only signals relevant to the dashboard onto which it is placed so users can see relevant insights instantly.
In the 9.1 release, Code Mode now has added governance and security configurations, including role functions, to ensure code is only edited by trusted users.
In October 2018, with the launch of Yellowfin 8 and the introduction of two additional products "Yellowfin Stories and Yellowfin Signals" the company changed its approach, releasing the platform as a suite of five packaged products.
Yellowfin Signals is continuing development in the augmented analytics space, enabling a machine automated analytics product. In March the next year, Yellowfin BI released Yellowfin 8. An enhancement on the augmented analytics capabilities in Yellowfin 8. The most notab addition to Yellowfin Stories is a new plugin framework enabling integration with other BI and non-BI platforms including embedding live and interactive reports from Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI into a story.
