Augeo Affinity Marketing Recent Developments

In April 2020, Augeo introduced a connectivity platform to help organizations strengthen relationships in a world disrupted by social isolation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform, called JOYN, brings employees together in ways that most connectivity tools do not, focusing on aligning goals, building community and enriching culture. JOYN was developed in partnership with Structural, using their advanced technology and data science capabilities. Augeo is offering the platform free of charge until 2021 to help companies more effectively stay connected, align on critical company priorities and build more resilient cultures

In January 2019, Augeo introduced REACH, its new employee engagement platform. With REACH, HR leaders now have an integrated toolset to develop a deeper understanding of the skills and interests of each employee, as well as ways to encourage teamwork, facilitate career development, and promote cultural alignment.

Augeo Affinity Marketing Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) Activities

In April 2020, Augeo acquired Empyr, a San Diego based card-linking platform for national brands and digital publishers. Together, they will launch a new company called Figg, combining the financial institution card-linking business of Augeo with the extensive publisher experience of Empyr. Augeo will continue to serve its clientele independently, while the new company will represent one of the largest user bases in the card-linking industry, with more than 60 million users and $300 billion in transaction volume. Figg will bring new card-linked opportunities for advertisers, publishers and consumers.

In September 2019 Augeo Affinity Marketing has bought MotivAction, a Minneapolis-based enterprise engagement firm, the companies announced Thursday morning. The combined company will have annual revenue of about $350 million, according to Augeo's CEO David Kristal. Enterprise engagement focuses on creating connections between companies and their employees and customers. For example, MotivAction is known for running employee recognition and sales incentive programs for other companies. Augeo has similar programs, but what they don't have is a meetings and events business, which MotivAction does.

Augeo has been both buyer and seller of companies over the best two years. In 2018, it sold its business division Augeo FI to Lightyear Capital, a private equity firm based in New York City. That transaction netted Augeo $140 million, and was a departure from the company's strategy of growing through acquisition; Augeo made eight smaller acquisitions in the years before the Augeo FI sale.

In February 2019, Augeo acquired Wingnut Advertising, a Minneapolis-based company delivering agency services since 2003. The acquisition will nearly double the size of Augeo Digital’s agency, a business unit of Augeo, and strengthen its capabilities in creative, strategic branding, website development, and digital communications. Wingnut also has expertise in search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), and other digital marketing services.
