Leveraging its widely popular social network, LinkedIn has emerged as a major force in the HCM applications market offering an increasing number of talent management products designed for corporate recruiters and professional users.

LinkedIn Corporate Solutions include the following six products: LinkedIn Recruiter, Job Slots, LinkedIn Referral Engine, LinkedIn Recruitment Media, LinkedIn Career Pages and LinkedIn Talent Pipeline. All of them are tightly integrated into its Cloud-based platform that serves up profiles of over 400 million members as well as their daily interactions among themselves resulting in 109 billion page views in 2014.

The sheer number of LinkedIn members provides corporate recruiters with unprecedented access to the so-called passive candidates(who represent 80% of its membership) as well as those actively looking for new career opportunities. What that boils down to is LinkedIn becoming a huge candidate pool that constantly recycles itself as new hires turn into experienced employees, who eventually become retirees vacating positions that will be filled by a new batch of hires.

The network effect, which is based on tripling its members from 90 million in 2010 to 400 million in 2015, now stands as one of the most potent weapons for LinkedIn to create and sell new and existing HCM solutions to recruiters, HR managers, or anyone involved in career development.

Net revenue from its Talent Solutions increased $549.5 million, which is comprised of increases in Hiring of $442.0 million and Learning & Development (recent acquisition of Lynda.com) of $107.4 million. Net revenue from its Marketing Solutions increased $126.8 million primarily due to Sponsored Content from its field sales and self-service channels, and to a lesser extent, revenue from products related to its acquisition of Bizo. Net revenue from its Premium Subscriptions increased $95.9 million primarily due to the increase in revenue from its Sales Solutions products, which include Sales Navigator.
