About the Customer

APCOA PARKING Group is Europe’s leading parking management company with more than 45 years of industry expertise. APCOA Group’s 5,000 employees manage approximately 1.4 million individual parking spaces at over 9,000 locations in 13 European countries. These include parking spaces at 1,800 city and shopping center locations, 400 hotels, 150 hospitals, and 58 European airports. With its consistent “asset light” business model, APCOA is a trusted partner for private and public real estate owners.

Scope and Challenges

APCOA’s advanced IT platform is the interface between its car parks, business customers, partners, car drivers, and their vehicles. Thus, APCOA is able to offer its business and end customers innovative services and products to improve the efficiency and comfort of their mobility experience. In addition to the company’s customers, these innovative services also create environmental benefits: APCOA actively contributes to reducing CO2 emissions in cities and at traffic intersections by reducing the volume of traffic searching for parking spaces with the aid of digital services and the company’s intelligent traffic management system.

APCOA must meet the requirements of 13 independently operating national subsidiaries in its budgeting and planning processes. As the legacy system no longer offered satisfactory performance, the group switched over to completely new applications. The introduction of CCH Tagetik for planning and consolidation has put APCOA in a position to make many of its own changes and enhancements, creating a high degree of independence. At the same time, it proved possible to dramatically increase system performance.

Using CCH Tagetik, APCOA now has significantly reduced the time spent on business intelligence processes; achieve simple data delivery from national subsidiaries; Introduction of a flexible, ERP Microsoft Dynamics NAV - independent consolidation and planning systems.

Outcome and Implications

APCOA was looking for finance software which was as fully independent from specific ERP systems and manufacturers as possible, and one which was as flexible as possible when it came to data supply.

CCH Tagetik is used in the APCOA Group for monthly consolidation, annual financial statements and for planning all budget periods. This began with the forecast, which runs until the end of the current year. The budget for the following year is planned on a monthly basis, and the mid-term plan covers the following four years on an annual basis. All periods in the budget process at APCOA are consolidated using CCH Tagetik. In head office, cost centre managers also plan their cost centres (multi-story car parks) in the system.
