About the Customer
VELUX is a Danish manufacturing company that specializes in roof windows and skylights.
Scope and Challenges
"An additional factor was that some of the employees of the HR department in the German location in Hamburg are working from their home offices. In order to give all employees location-independent access to the files, it became necessary to supply the personal documents in an electronic form. The digitalization made it possible
that different employees can now retrieve all relevant documents simultaneously and from different offices or locations. They no longer have to wait for folders or carry them from one department to the next. This really simplifies our work“- said Kirsten Vogt, Personnel Management at VELUX Deutschland GmbH.
Outcome and Implications
Implementation affected all 10,000 employees in the VELUX group in over 40 countries. It was terminated on time, followed by the budget and implemented in 12 months. The system will provide the company with deeper insights about the employees, by real-time analyzing relevant data as if the employees as competence and how they perform.
“Our vision was to have Workday replace most of these systems and give us the foundation to get to GDPR compliance. Some employee data was in HR systems, some of it was in spreadsheets and databases,” said Olsen. “So, we had lots of different tools and systems that were used locally. Some of our locations would have a reasonable set of processes and software. Some would have only the most basic.”-said Jacob Kjeldgaard Olsen, Senior Director of Strategy and Change at VELUX.
Quotes
"The implementation of Workday HCM went very well and we did not need to do anything extra for it to work even mobile. Workday kept its promises and we started the system on time, according to budget and gave us the perfect platform to maximize the value of our investments and realized all the benefits. With Workday, our managers have access to a lot of data. We can make more informed decisions. Workday allows us to become more flexible and we can make changes to the business faster, "-said Jacob Kjeldgaard Olsen, Director of Strategy & Change at VELUX Group.
