Additionally, De Watergroep, the largest drinking water utility in Flanders, Belgium, renewed its partnership with Itineris for an additional five years. The company also signed agreements with Gwinnett County Water in Georgia, which serves approximately 270,000 customers, and Arizona Water Utilities—Itineris’ first investor-owned utility (IOU) client, marking its entry into a new market segment.

In March 2024, the Manatee County Utility Department (MCUD) in Manatee County, Florida, successfully implemented a new UMAX Customer Information System (CIS), along with a customer self-service portal and an integrated Paymentus payment solution. Delivered in collaboration with Itineris, Whitlock Consulting Group, and Paymentus, the deployment marks a significant step in MCUD’s commitment to technological innovation and service excellence, enhancing operational efficiency and improving the customer experience.

Notable customers include the City of Tallahassee, Dunea, Boston Water and Sewer Commission, De Watergroep, SEFE Energy, EP NL, and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), among others.

Itineris Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions

At the beginning of 2024, Itineris announced key strategic changes to its European leadership team, reinforcing its focus on operational excellence and continued growth. Cedric Proot has been appointed as General Manager for Itineris Europe, a newly established role in which he will oversee the company’s operations across Europe, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Valerina De Lille has been named Business Unit Manager for Europe Regulated, where she will lead initiatives focused on utilities operating in regulated markets.

In recent years, Itineris accelerated its expansion in the United States, seizing growing opportunities within the utility sector. Through establishing strategic partnerships and a strengthened presence across key municipalities and utility organizations, the company is well-positioned to deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions that meet the evolving demands of the U.S. market.

Itineris Risks and Challenges

Itineris’s partnership with Microsoft, formed following a rigorous evaluation and contracting process, strengthens the capabilities of its UMAX Customer Information System (CIS) solution. Built on the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP platform, UMAX offers utilities integrated customer engagement tools, reducing reliance on third-party add-ons typically required by legacy systems. This collaboration ensures seamless integration with existing customer-facing technologies, enhancing overall efficiency and user experience.

Itineris Ecosystem, Partners, Resellers and SI

Itineris maintains a geographic presence in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and North America, supported by a network of regional system integrators for localized delivery. Its partner ecosystem includes solution and integration providers such as Microsoft, IBM, Capgemini, and others, enhancing its implementation capabilities. IBM supports the delivery of UMAX to global utility clients through SaaS or private cloud, utilizing its scale and delivery infrastructure. Strategic collaboration with Capgemini focuses on deploying UMAX in both regulated and deregulated energy and water markets, offering an ERP/CIS solution built on Microsoft technologies as an alternative to tier-one platforms.
