Itineris achieved notable success in North America, marked by a significant milestone with the successful implementation of their first US client in the City of Baltimore. This achievement has propelled them with considerable momentum in the North American market, leading to additional successful deals, including partnerships with Georgetown Utility Systems and Cape Fear Public Utility Authority. Meanwhile, in Europe, Itineris has expanded its geographic focus to include the UK, France, Iceland, and has welcomed new customers such as Gazprom, Dunea, HZEB, HS VEITUR, Save Energies, and GreenYellow.
Itineris Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In October 2022, Itineris revealed the appointment of Hans Dekeyser as the General Manager for Itineris North America, a newly established role. In this capacity, Hans will manage the day-to-day operations in the US. Simultaneously, John Beddingfield, President of Itineris North America, will shift his focus to the strategic growth of the company while maintaining his role as an ambassador for the North American market. This strategic team enhancement aims to expedite Itineris' ambitious growth plans in the US.
Itineris has experienced recent growth in the U.S. utility market, marked by successful UMAX implementations for Georgetown Utility Systems and Dakota Electric Association. Georgetown Utility Systems (GUS) is the third U.S. customer to go live on UMAX, with two more scheduled for 2019. UMAX replaces outdated legacy systems for both GUS and Dakota Electric, supporting goals such as customer service enhancement, decision-making, and business process improvement. Dakota Electric sought flexibility, integration, and control in their transition from the eCIS legacy system.
Itineris Risks and Challenges
Itineris NV's partnership with Microsoft, established after an extensive vetting and contract process, enhances the value of its UMAX CIS solution. Built on the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP platform, UMAX provides utilities with native customer engagement tools, eliminating the need for additional "bolt-on" solutions often required by legacy systems. The collaboration enables seamless integration with existing customer-facing solutions.
Itineris Ecosystem, Partners, Resellers and SI
Itineris maintains partnerships with numerous regional system integrators in its target markets.
In January 2018, Itineris entered into a partnership with De Watergroep to provide support and managed services for its UMAX Customer Information System (CIS) and ERP solutions until 2022, with a potential extension to 2025. Itineris collaborates with key partners including Microsoft, IBM, and Capgemini.
Itineris North America opened a new Atlanta office and has recruited nearly a dozen new team members focused on North American product development and delivery. Expanding its executive leadership team as U.S. growth continues.
IBM is globally established as a provider of solutions and services to utilities, and as such is a trusted partner in bringing UMAX to energy and water companies worldwide. In doing so, IBM has invested in a UMAX competence center and has the necessary capabilities to deliver UMAX via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model or hosted in a (private) cloud. The combination of IBM’s global footprint, industrialized delivery model and experienced teams together with the innovative, configured and proven UMAX CIS/ERP solution allows both companies to take solutions that are proven on a global scale.
Itineris and Capgemini are global alliance partners for the implementation of UMAX at energy and water companies in deregulated or regulated markets. The Capgemini-Itineris value proposition is delivering a best-in-class, end-to-end ERP/CIS solution built on the Microsoft technology stack and offering utilities a lower TCO alternative to other tier one solutions
