Verizon Connect Recent Developments
Verizon Connect introduced a compact, discreet asset tracking solution that is easy to conceal, self-install, and self-manage, to help Reveal customers reduce theft, improve equipment utilization and billing, and reduce equipment downtime with a replaceable battery.
In September 2019, Verizon Connect launched a new immobilization tool for its Verizon Connect Reveal, helping fleets prevent unauthorized use of vehicles and aid in the recovery of stolen vehicles. The same month it launched a dispatch solution for field service fleets that integrates with its Reveal cloud-based telematics platform. Field Service Dispatch brings vehicle location data together with technician status updates to help fleet managers improve dispatching and scheduling.
In July 2019, Verizon Connect launched the Navigation Mobile App for Verizon Connect Reveal. The app works with the Verizon Connect Reveal platform to give drivers directions based on their vehicle and load types to reduce miles driven and improve safety. The company expects the new app will have a positive impact on fleet and driver efficiency.
Verizon Connect Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
Verizon Telematics acquired Movildata Internacional, a Murcia, Spain-based provider of commercial fleet management solutions. Movildata employees have joined the Verizon Telematics team and will continue to drive sales and support for its current fleet management products.
In 2016, Verizion Connect acquired Fleetmatics Group, a global provider of fleet and mobile workforce management solutions. The deal made Fleetmatics a part of Verizon Telematics, a subsidiary of the telco that focuses on fleet management, mobile workforce solutions and IoT. It’s part of a short spate of acquisitions that Verizon has been making in 2016 to expand those operations: about six weeks before, Verizon Telematics announced that it would acquire Telogis.

Verizon Connect Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
Verizon Connect announced the European expansion of Reveal EV capabilities in addition to the new Electric Vehicle Suitability Tool. The EV Suitability Tool shows customers how converting to electric vehicles (EVs) can help them achieve cost reduction while reaching their sustainability goals. The easy-to-read dashboard highlights which of their vehicles can be replaced by EVs and provides graphical data to support these recommendations.
