Aareon Recent Developments
In the Netherlands, Aareon Nederland offers two ERP systems: REMS for the commercial real estate industry and Tobias AX or now Tobias 365 for the housing industry. Two pilot customers started migrating to Tobias 365 in the third quarter of 2019. The plan is for them to go live with the new system in the second quarter of 2020. The pure migration from the old to the new system takes around four to six months. Around 90 customers are to be migrated over the next five years.
Aareon Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
In October 2021, Aareon acquired GAP Gesellschaft fur Anwenderprogramme und Organisationsberatung mbH (“GAP-Group”). This acquisition strengthens the Aareon Group’s market position in Germany and enlarges its product portfolio by adding the industry-specific ERP software immotion.
In August 2021, Aareon acquired wohnungshelden GmbH. Through this acquisition, Aareon is continuing its growth trajectory by adding a digital housing brokerage solution to its product portfolio in Germany.
In May 2021, Aareon Fixflo. Fixflo offers a best-in-class SaaS solution that connects property managers, owners, tenants, and contractors on a dedicated SaaS platform for repairs and maintenance management and comprehensively optimizes business processes. The company was incorporated in 2012 and the solution is used to manage around 1.2 million units for around 1,500 customers.
In May 2021, Aareon acquired Twinq. Twinq is a provider of management software for the Dutch shared-ownership property management sector. It offers various modern and web-based customer portals, such as the owner portal, collection portal, and contractor portal, that help reduce the administrative burden of property management for customers.
In December 2021, Aareon acquired Arthur Online Ltd. Arthur, a London-based company, offers a SaaS property management solution that brings together Property Managers, Property Owners, Tenants, and Contractors in one single platform. Via its suite of integrations, Arthur streamlines its clients’ property management processes from start to finish. The company, launched in 2015, has over 1,000 clients managing ca. 90,000 units.
In November 2019 Aareon acquired software and consulting company CalCon. Aareon’s acquisition will further strengthen its position as ERP software and digital solutions for the property industry in Europe, and expand Aareon Smart World to include solutions for assessing the condition of existing buildings, determining requirements, and planning maintenance.
In April 2019 Aaeron has acquired a 19% stake in Dutch property software producer OSRE BV. a platform for property sales and rental transactions. The aim of the partnership in the Netherlands is to integrate OSRE’s software into Aareon Smart World and jointly develop markets.
In November 2017 Aaeron acquired all of the shares in the sales companies mse Augsburg GmbH (Augsburg) and mse Immobiliensoftware GmbH (Hamburg) as well as the development company mse RELion GmbH. By purchasing the mse Group’s property-industry IT business, Aaeron is continuing his profitable growth strategy and expanding both his customer base and solution portfolio. With mse, it gains access to the commercial property sector and the Austrian market, in particular, mse will continue to serve its customers with its independent market presence. From now on, the customers of mse can benefit from the comprehensive digital solution portfolio.

Aareon Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In June 2020 Aareon released an AI-based virtual assistant that will interact with customers in the first step via chat and in the second step via voice. Aareon has developed his own character and voice for this virtual assistant, Neela.
In November 2019 Aareon customers, partners, and start-ups can design and develop their own IT solutions using a wide range of web services, including in its new Aareon Smart Platform. The new Aareon Smart Platform will also disrupt the market by enabling Aareon partners to develop and bring their own solutions to the Aareon Smart World, creating an open and richer marketplace for housing and real estate management systems.
Aareon Risks and Challenges
In October 2020, Aareal Bank AG sold a minority stake in its IT subsidiary Aareon to financial investor Advent International. The purchase price for the 30 percent stake was approximately €260 million.
