Acquia Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions

In May 2022, Acquia expanded its Authority to Operate (ATO) under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) managed by the U.S. General Services Administration. The expansion boosts Acquia’s status as the only commercial provider of cloud services for creating and deploying digital experiences based on Drupal to meet the U.S. government’s requirements for the security and protection of federal information.

In February 2021, Acquia appointed Steven Hayes as the company’s new General Manager for Asia Pacific & Japan. Given his prior experience in SAP, where he led customer experience solutions for Asia Pacific & Japan, Aquia believes that his experience will be invaluable as they accelerate their work helping global brands get incredible returns from investments in Drupal and create compelling digital experiences. As General Manager, Hayes will be responsible for growing and accelerating both sales and the partner network business in the region, which includes Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the rest of Southeast Asia.

With the acquisition of Widen in 2021, Acquia extends its leadership in managing web applications. With access to an integrated platform under one roof, Acquia customers will benefit from being able to add rich content such as: images, videos, PDFs to any digital customer experience. For them, it's important to offer their customers a fully integrated DAM and PIM as part of their DXP solution. After evaluating all the potential options, Acquia chose Widen as the best fit because the company is growing quickly and has extremely satisfied customers, and most importantly, the technology can be fully integrated with Acquia DXP.
