Asana Strengths

Asana is a web and mobile application designed to enable teamwork without email. Asana puts conversations and tasks together, with the hope that teams can get more done with less effort. It was founded by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and engineer Justin Rosenstein, who both worked on improving the productivity of employees at Facebook.

Asana is free for teams of up to 15 people. Asana Premium plans are paid versions of the product for larger teams or entire organizations. Pricing is tiered based on the number of people within the Team or Organization.

Asana uses Amazon Web Services (RDS & S3) to manage user data. The database is replicated synchronously so that can be quickly recover from a database failure. As an extra precaution, Asana take regular snapshots of the database and securely move them to a separate data center so that can restore it elsewhere as needed, even in the event of a regional Amazon failure.
