In conjunction with the closing, the Benefitfocus Board appointed Lanham Napier as its lead independent director. Mr. Napier has served as a company director since 2014. He is Co-Founder and CEO of BuildGroup and was previously the CEO of Rackspace, which he helped grow from a startup to $1.5 billion in revenue and a global leader in the managed hosting industry. During this growth period, Mr. Napier was recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Most Powerful CEOs 40 and Under and was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Executives by CRN.
The company intends to use the proceeds from the investment to accelerate ongoing initiatives, including the potential reduction of debt, potential acquisitions to extend the company’s market or technology leadership, and other general corporate purposes.

Benefitfocus Ecosystem, Partners, Resellers and SI
Itron has more than 200 million connected devices across 8,000 customers in more than 100 countries.
In June 2020, Itron unveiled the Itron Engage Sales Channel Partner Program. With this program, new and existing partners will have access to tools, training, and support for Itron’s solutions, which will equip them to extend the reach of Itron’s technology to the markets they serve around the globe. The program is available now for partners in North America and will roll out to Latin America (LAM), Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and the Asia Pacific (APAC) over the next 12 months.
Itron uses a combination of direct and indirect sales channels in its operating segments. A direct sales force is utilized for large electric, natural gas, and water utilities, with which they have long-established relationships. For smaller utilities, typically use an indirect sales force that consists of distributors, sales representatives, partners, and meter manufacturer representatives.
In January 2017, Itron partnered with Wasion Group, a leading energy measurement instrument, system, and service supplier in China, to expand Itron's OpenWay Riva ecosystem. The companies developed and delivered OpenWay Riva-enabled Wasion electricity meters to expand customer choice and capabilities in markets throughout the world.
The expanded ecosystem, which will initially focus on the Austrian market, includes Kapsch BusinessCom and Kapsch Smart Energy, Itron’s integration partner in Austria, and technology and solution suppliers Schrack Technik Energie in cooperation with EMH Metering, Kamstrup and Wasion Group Ltd.
