In September 2017, Dassault Systèmes launched SOLIDWORKS 2018, the latest release of its portfolio of 3D design and engineering applications for the fiscal year 2017. Later in September 2018, Dassault Systèmes launched SOLIDWORKS 2019, the latest release of its portfolio of 3D design and engineering applications. SOLIDWORKS 2019 delivers enhancements and new functionalities that help millions of innovators improve the product development process to get products into production faster and create new categories of experiences for new categories of customers in today’s Industry Renaissance.

In July 2017, Dassault Systèmes and Boeing have extended their partnership. Boeing will expand its deployment of Dassault Systèmes products across its commercial aviation, space and defense programs to include the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

In July 2020 Dassault Systèmes introduced new collaborative data science capabilities on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Dassault Systèmes’ customers can capitalize on their data patrimony by engaging in new virtual twin experiences in which important knowledge found in unstructured text data is transformed into actionable content and insights. This follows the acquisition of the privately-held company Proxem, a France-based specialist in artificial intelligence-powered semantic processing software and services, and provider of customer experience analysis solutions.

Dassault Systèmes has integrated Proxem’s main software, Proxem Studio, into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to complement NETVIBES EXALEAD information intelligence applications. This accelerates the portfolio of available AI models while transforming all public and accessible content into a reusable industry knowledge graph. Proxem Studio delivers a combination of rule-based natural language understanding, natural language processing, and machine learning technologies used by companies like Air Liquide to better understand supply networks, customer expectations, market trends, and other aspects of their business.

In June 2018, Dassault Systèmes completed the acquisition of No Magic, Incorporated, a global solutions company focused on model-based systems engineering, architecture modeling for software, the system of systems, and enterprise business processes modeling. The acquisition of No Magic strengthens Dassault Systèmes industry solution experiences based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform by generalizing systems engineering for developing the “Internet of Experiences” – the smart and autonomous experiences that are digitally connecting products, nature, and life in the physical world.

In January 2019 Dassault Systèmes acquired IQMS, a leading manufacturing ERP software company, for $425 million. With the acquisition of the California-based IQMS, Dassault Systèmes extends the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to small and midsized manufacturing companies seeking to digitally transform their business operations.

IQMS’s software – on-premise EnterpriseIQ and software as a service WebIQ – deliver an all-in-one solution to mid-market manufacturers for managing engineering, manufacturing, and business ecosystems by digitally connecting order processing, scheduling, production, and shipping processes in real-time. IQMS’s solutions are used by 1,000 customers based primarily in the U.S. whose 2,000 manufacturing facilities in 20 countries produce for the automotive, industrial equipment, medical device, consumer goods, and consumer packaged goods industries. Customers include Westfall Technik, KKSP Precision Machining, AMA Plastics, Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, FlowBelow Aero Inc., Global Interconnect, Inc., Jabil Packaging Solutions, Schnipke Precision Molding, Steinwall Inc., Scientific, Inc., Sturgis Molded Products, Tribar, and Ventura Manufacturing Inc. IQMS’s 2017 revenue was around $56 million.

Dassault Systèmes acquired Exa Corporation, a global innovator in simulation software for product engineering. With the addition of Exa, Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform will provide customers with a proven, diverse portfolio of combined Lattice Boltzmann fluid simulation technologies, as well as Exa’s fully industrialized solutions and nearly 350 highly experienced simulation professionals. This set of solutions solves challenging fluids problems faster and more accurately than traditional methods for aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, thermal management, and a growing list of applications in other industries.

Exa’s software is used by designers and engineers at more than 150 leading companies in transportation and mobility, as well as aerospace and defense, natural resources, and others to evaluate highly dynamic fluid flow throughout the design process. Customers include BMW, Tesla, Toyota, NASA, Embraer, British Petroleum, and others. Nearly every transportation and mobility manufacturer uses Exa’s solutions to simulate aerodynamic flow, aeroacoustics, and thermal management.
