In 2020, D2L partnered with Bayfield Design to offer an online course on COVID-19 at no cost. The unique, complimentary course was built by educators and is based on the science behind COVID-19. In 2020, D2L partnered with Urkund. Urkund’s automatic text-recognition system helps detect and identify potential plagiarism in any language. It checks submitted work against a comprehensive content database archived over decades: learner material, scholarly publications from premium publishers, and the internet. A detailed analysis report is generated to instructors and learners supporting academic integrity practices within the classroom.
In 2020, D2L partnered with New Jersey-based Edge to offer Brightspace to its members. Edge supports a thriving technology ecosystem that is purpose-built for the communities they serve — in part through a cooperative pricing system that connects the Edge community with technologies provided by industry-leading partners like D2L.
