D2L is parlaying its successes in the education market to enterprise customers with Brightspace for Enterprise, which aims to boost corporate learning Social, Mobile, and Video Content, gamification tools as well as analytics to measure engagement and progress. The Brightspace platform is further enhanced by various tier-one partnerships also announced that D2L has partnered with IBM to embed its Cognos business intelligence engine into D2L Insights and that has collaborated with Microsoft to expand its mobile offering with a Windows 8 mobile app for D2L Binder.

In July 2021, D2L today launched D2L Wave, a bold new approach to professional development that makes it easy for employees to gain new skills by accessing an online catalog of high-quality education options from leading educational institutions.
In May 2019, D2L unveiled ‘Indigo’— the latest version of its Brightspace learning platform — which empowers employees to take control of their own learning paths in a competitive global economy. In August 2021, D2L launched its new parent and guardian app within a suite of back-to-school features designed to support teachers, learners, and families as they return to a new learning landscape. The new Brightspace app addresses an urgent and significant shift in collaboration between teachers and families that emerged as a result of the pandemic and delivers enhanced levels of continuity and support for learners.
In 2020, D2L partnered with Bayfield Design to offer an online course on COVID-19 at no cost. The unique, complimentary course was built by educators and is based on the science behind COVID-19. The course helps learners and educators understand the global pandemic, its risks, and how to effectively manage it. D2L and Bayfield Design are key players in the online education sector and strongly believe they have a duty to help the 850 million students who are out of school worldwide.

In 2014 Desire2Learn purchased the Achievement Standards Network (ASN) created by JES&Co with consulting support from the Information School of the University of Washington. In September 2021, D2L partnered with Nova Scotia-based NeonTrain. A new company, NeonTrain delivers online training for small and medium-sized businesses and will be using D2L’s signature platform Brightspace to support their clients.
In April 2021, D2L teamed up with Zoom Video Communications, a leading video-first unified communications platform, to offer a comprehensive education experience. D2L will now sell Zoom alongside the award-winning Brightspace learning platform, seamlessly supporting online and blended learning with live face-to-face video in North America.
In 2020, D2L partnered with Urkund. Urkund’s automatic text-recognition system helps detect and identify potential plagiarism in any language. It checks submitted work against a comprehensive content database archived over decades: learner material, scholarly publications from premium publishers, and the internet. A detailed analysis report is generated to instructors and learners supporting academic integrity practices within the classroom.
In 2020, D2L partnered with New Jersey-based Edge to offer Brightspace to its members. Edge supports a thriving technology ecosystem that is purpose-built for the communities they serve — in part through a cooperative pricing system that connects the Edge community with technologies provided by industry-leading partners like D2L.
D2L partnered with the Integrity Advocate, the next evolution of proctoring technology, to support academic integrity in online learning. D2L will integrate Integrity Advocate’s proctoring and other features into Brightspace for clients who wish to use it to monitor student progress.
