Hyland released OnBase 18 in June 2018. This release of the software included 10,000 updates and 3,100 customer-driven enhancements. Enhancements include (but are not limited to) a new combined viewer that personalizes the display of content and data into a streamlined and consolidated view to tailor user experiences for a variety of user roles, enhanced mobile capabilities that deliver personalized case management applications and tighter integrations with common mobile business apps, and boldered security with the addition of touch ID for iOS and increased identity provider support for streamlined authentication. Hyland opened two new datacenters in Canada, bringing its total datacenters to 13.

Hyland M&A Activities

In April 2018, Hyland acquired the OneContent business from Allscripts, a leading provider of healthcare information technology solutions. The OneContent platform provides healthcare content management solutions and integrates with Allscripts’ Paragon EHR system, while also leveraging the complementary capabilities of the Hyland Healthcare suite.


In July 2017, Hyland acquires Lexmark Perceptive Business Unit which includes Perceptive Software while Thoma Bravo, a US-based private equity firm which already owns Hyland, would keep the rest of Lexmark International's enterprise software business which includes Kofax and ReadSoft. Early this week, Hyland announced the completion of its acquisition of the Perceptive business unit.


In October 2015, Hyland acquired LawLogix, a software company specializing in cloud-based immigration and compliance solutions. Operating as a division of Hyland, LawLogix will continue the sale, implementation, support and development of both the Guardian and EDGE product lines.

Hyland, established in 1991, is a leading developer of enterprise information software. Some key areas of focus for Hyland lies in its vertical applications for medical records, transcript capture, and board and committee agenda management, as well as accounts payable.


Hyland leverages the Hyland Cloud to deliver cloud-based ECM solutions to more than 800 lifetime global customers. These hosted OnBase solutions reside on servers that are owned and managed by Hyland. The OnBase product also offers integrations with Microsoft, SAP, Oracle Corporation and Lawson to gain more value from existing technologies.
