Intershop Communications AG independent provider of innovative solutions for omnichannel commerce, announces a change in the Management Board. Long-serving Management Board Chairman (CEO) Dr Jochen Wiechen will leave the company at his own request as planned when his contract expires at the end of August 2021. He will continue to hold office as CEO until the Annual General Meeting in May 2021 and will thereafter be available to the company in an advisory capacity until the end of his contract. Markus Klahn, currently Chief Operating Officer (COO), will lead the company as sole Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after the 2021 Annual General Meeting.
In September 2018 Intershop released Intershop Commerce Management 7.10 and Intershop Order Management 2.9.
New features in Intershop Commerce Management 7.10 are deeper integration of Google Tag Manager and support for Universal Analytics, import of product attribute groups, online/offline tagging of product variants, GDPR: management of customer requests to view and/or delete personal data in ICM.

Intershop Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In March 2021, Intershop further expands in North America by entering a strategic partnership with CSS Commerce.
Intershop launched a new cloud offering Intershop Commerce-as-a-Service (CaaS). The product launch marks an important strategic milestone in the commerce specialist's "cloud-first" strategy. The new offering also combines Intershop's leading e-commerce technology with one of the world's leading public cloud platforms, Microsoft Azure.
Strong cloud services growth expected: in Germany alone, from EUR 7.5 billion to more than EUR 10 billion in 2019. Few mounts later, Intershop opened up new growth opportunities for digital agencies with Commerce-as-a-Service. After introducing the CaaS offering, Intershop is taking the next step: the company is opening up the possibility for digital agencies to make the CaaS offering available to their customers, too.
Intershop has entered into a partnership with consulting and software company Capptoo focusing on digitization projects in Switzerland. The focus of the cooperation was Switzerland, which differs considerably from the e-commerce market. With the partnership, Intershop is opening up a flexible solution offering that takes into account the special conditions of the Swiss market.
In October 2018, the internationally active software and business consulting company ORBIS AG and Intershop Communications AG merge their expertise in digitization projects through a strategic partnership. Nonetheless, the cloud business results were not as high as originally expected. In July 2021, Intershop Communications AG has extended its strategic partnership with the US corporation Microsoft for another three years at improved conditions to accelerate the digital transformation of manufacturing and wholesale companies (B2B sector). The cooperation enables customers to seamlessly integrate Intershop's highly scalable omnichannel commerce platform with the flexible Microsoft Azure Cloud and the solutions integrated therein, such as the innovative enterprise resource planning (ERP) software Microsoft Dynamics 365. The partnership, which has already existed since 2016, was extended ahead of schedule, as Intershop now uses considerably more services from Microsoft due to its growth in recent months.
