Nemetschek Group Strengths, Domain Expertise, and Key Differentiators
The Nemetschek Group is a Germany based, globally operating software developer, focused on the AEC industry. The corporate group is focused on four customer segments: Design (Allplan, Graphisoft, VectorWorks SCIA, Data Design System, Frilo, Precasti, Risa, Solibri, dRofus), Build (Nevaris, Bluebeam, SDS/2), Manage (Spacewell, Crem Solutions (rebranded to Spacewell Germany)) and Media & Entertainment (Maxon). Including 16 highly innovative, market-leading brands. The brands offer digital solutions for the planning, building and operation of building and infrastructure projects, as well as for the media and entertainment industry.
With the Design segment's solutions, customers are able to carry out their tasks along all phases, from planning and design right up to factory and construction planning. The portfolio particularly features Open BIM solutions for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE), which are used in 2D and 3D building design and imaging.
In the Build segment, they offer integrated complete 5D BIM solutions from the bidding and award phase, to invoicing, budgeting, scheduling and cast calculation. This also includes commercial ERP solutions for construction-related accounting and PDF-based workflow solutions for digital work processes, collaboration and documentation, as well as BIM solutions for steel structures.
The Manage segment provides solutions for all commercial processes in property management. It also offers modular and integrated software solutions for property, facility and workplace management (IWMS, integrated workplace management system). Also provides an intelligent smart building platform that uses Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and big-data analysis to improve productivity and efficiency for building managers and building users.
In the Media & Entertainment segment, they offer solutions for rendering models, 3D modeling, animation or visual effects.
Nemetschek Group Recent Developments
In January 2019, Nemetschek announced that its MCS Solutions business, which was later rebranded "Spacewell" will acquire Axxerion, developer of facility and property management software, for €75 million. This adds to Nemetschek’s existing “Manage” offerings to address what the company sees as a potentially €20 billion opportunity. With the acquisition, the Nemetschek Group further strengthens its competencies in strategic, high-growth building management verticals: Commercial real estate management where Nemetschek already has a leading position in the German market via its brand CREM Solutions (which was rebranded "Spacewell Germany" in early 2020). Now, with the acquisition of Axxerion, the Group is increasing its property management competencies and footprint globally. The market for Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) where Axxerion’s workflow-based cloud software complements Spacewell's IoT-enabled IWMS offering. This will make it possible to address new customer segments, accelerate growth, and enlarge the company’s SaaS footprint. Smart buildings, a growth market driven by innovation, where the Group is globally active through the COBUNDU brand. Smart buildings leverage real-time data and analytics to make workflows more dynamic and enable smarter, activity-based service delivery.
Keeping facilities in good shape can be challenging in coronavirus times. The consultancy Arcadis, software supplier Spacewell, innovation partner Made and communication partner Social Seeder have therefore jointly launched the online platform www.B2Building.help. The international platform is a digital reporting point for urgent interventions by companies with a critical mission, such as hospitals, rest homes, retail chains, distribution centers, inter-municipal companies, etc. In May 2020, Spacewell launced new user-friendly software and technology tools to help organizations address challenges as workers return to the office. Spacewell’s COVID-19-tailored solutions rely on IWMS software coupled with the IoT to help companies leverage utilization data and dynamically adapt facility processes.
Nemetschek Group Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities

Customers will significantly benefit from having an all-material building design solution under one roof.
