In 2021, Suprema access control, biometrics and time & attendance solutions, announced at the general shareholders' meeting and the board of directors meeting on March 23 that it has appointed James Lee and Hanchul Kim to respective CEOs. Lee is to be in charge of general management while Kim leads the BioStar business division.
In January 2020, Suprema unveiled a new version of BioStar 2 platform, enhancing the cybersecurity features. Suprema BioStar 2 is a web-based, open, and integrated security platform that provides comprehensive functionality for access control and time & attendance.
In September 2019 Suprema introduced its latest range of biometric security solutions. Suprema revealed its latest mobile credential solution, facial recognition technology, and enterprise access control solutions integrated with anti-tailgating sensors.
The new Mobile Credential is the industry’s most advanced and newest smartphone-based authentication solution using both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and NFC. In addition, Suprema introduced its latest range of facial recognition products and enterprise access control solutions. Launched at ISC West in April this year, Suprema extends the introduction of the FaceLite in Japan market. The FaceLite provides the world’s best facial recognition performance in terms of matching the speed, operating illuminance and user capacity.
The new FaceLite is designed for both the enterprise access control systems and time attendance applications by featuring Suprema's industry-leading technologies and innovative features. Loaded with powerful 1.2GHz CPU and massive 8GB memory, FaceLite achieves an incredible matching speed of up to 30,000 matches per second and accommodates up to 30,000 users while providing intuitive face-enrollment GUI for faster user registration.
In August 2019 Suprema launched XPass 2 series Mobile and RFID IP readers. The new addition of IP readers will provide the extended capability to the company’s new mobile credential service. XPass 2 readers are compact IP-based RFID readers featuring BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy), NFC, dual-frequency RFID and rugged IP67/IK08 structure, optimized for the company’s newly launched mobile credential service.
These new IP readers are compatible with 125kHz and 13. 56MHz RF cards including EM, MIFARE(plus), DESFire(EV1) and FeliCa standards. In addition, all readers read BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy), and NFC signals hence cover most of the current Android smartphones and iPhone models.
XPass 2 readers come in 3 models to meet various project requirements and installation environments. Suprema deals with 1,000 different customers across 133 countries worldwide. Its revenue jumped 26.2% from $49.2 million in 2013 to $65.5 million in 2014, and market capital again reported double-digit growth.

Suprema HQ Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In 2020, Suprema has integrated its devices with Paxton access control system, Net2. The integration will enable organizations to use Suprema devices in combination with Net2.
In May 2020, Suprema unveiled its new software development kit (SDK) Suprema G-SDK. It allows Suprema devices to be seamlessly integrated with third-party software. Suprema G-SDK is an enhancement to the previous BioStar 2 Device SDK. Suprema G-SDK provides greater performance to handle enhanced operations and more efficient data serialization resulting in faster data transfer for user management, event logging, etc. In fact, the data transfer speed for user management has been improved up to 10 times compared to the BioStar 2 Device SDK. The number of connected devices and user management data being transferred are increased remarkably.
In January 2019 Suprema has entered into a commercial software license and distribution agreement with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, for the licensing of Suprema’s BioSign, its under-display fingerprint recognition algorithm.
Suprema has entered the smartphone segment with the Samsung Galaxy J5 in its fingerprint solution for smartphones last year. In February 2018, the company launched BioSign 3.0 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) and has actively pursued the development of integrated solutions with several fingerprint sensor companies. The previous version, BioSign 2.0, is a fingerprint recognition algorithm technology specialized in ultra-small touch-type fingerprint sensor. It provides excellent authentication performance and speed for a 4x3.2mm fingerprint sensor, which is essential for applying a fingerprint recognition function in mid-range smartphones. Despite its roots in South Korea, Suprema has broadly expanded across Europe with its hardware and HR software expertise.
