In September 2021 TechnologyOne has upgraded its Software as a Service (SaaS) platform to meet the stringent Australian Federal Government IRAP security standard, so it can handle data classified as PROTECTED. This new high level of cyber security has also been applied to existing and new UK council and university customers and surpasses obligations set out within the HMG National Cyber Security Strategy 2016-2021, associated Government Functional Standards, minimum cyber security standards along with UK National Cyber Security Centre’s principles and guidance. TechnologyOne’s security upgrades come with no operational impact and at no additional cost to local government and higher education customers, or the taxpayer.
TechnologyOne Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
In September 2021 TechnologyOne has acquired a leading higher education software provider Scientia, in a deal that creates a best-in-class industry solution. This acquisition solidifies TechnologyOne’s dominance in the Higher Education market, with 75% of institutions in Australia, and 50% in the UK supported by its solution.

Over 1200 leading corporations, government departments and statutory authorities are powered by TechnologyOne's software from which 70 are using its cloud-based solution TechnologyOne Cloud.
There were 49 new TechnologyOne Cloud customers for the financial 2015 year. Among TechnologyOne customers are large enterprises such as the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Department of Treasury, Brisbane and Wellington City Councils, Noosa Council, Queensland Police Citizens Youth Welfare Association, Western Australian (WA) Government departments and agencies (SBDC, Tourism WA, Department of Water), Pepper Europe and other large organizations.
In the few months since the October 2015 acquisition of Jeff Roorda & Associates, the software provider has inked deals with the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and New Plymouth District Council in New Zealand, Armidale, Auburn and Tamworth Councils in New South Wales and Shire of Campaspe in Victoria.

In 2020, TechnologyOne staff have been ‘attached at the socially-distanced hip’ with customers, helping them to ‘keep the lights on’, and doing everything from keeping nurses paid, essential services maintained in local council areas, to ensuring uni students remain enrolled. The software provider also worked side-by-side with the Australian Taxation Office to rapidly ensure its payroll solution met the needs of the Australian Government's legislation changes on the Jobkeeper Payment. Customers were able to get immediate guidance on how to best configure their Payroll software to meet the Jobkeeper payment and Single Touch Payroll reporting requirements.
TechnologyOne has acquired Digital Mapping Solutions (DMS), which specializes in the development and implementation of integrated mapping solutions.
TechnologyOne acquired Jeff Roorda and Associates (JRA) for approximately $10 million. This acquisition cements TechnologyOne’s position as the leading provider of innovative enterprise solutions for local government, government, and asset-intensive organizations. Acquisition of JRA aligns with TechnologyOne's plans for further geographic expansion, with an established customer base in North America.

In October 2019, TechnologyOne partnered with WPM Education to deliver an integrated solution that gives students more visibility and control over how and when they make payments to their university or college.

In April 2019 Mid Ulster District Council is embracing next generation, mobile-enabled technology to transform its organization, signing a two-year Software as a Service (SaaS) deal with the enterprise software provider, TechnologyOne. Procured through G-Cloud, the council will become the first local authority in Northern Ireland to adopt TechnologyOne’s fully integrated SaaS solution, which is currently used by the likes of Cambridge City Council, The London School of Economics and the world-leading Science Museum Group.
TechnologyOne’s solution will replace the council’s Totalmobile on-premise software, automating it's financial management and procurement systems and allowing the council to access its enterprise software on any device at any time, via a single platform. TechnologyOne UK Operating Officer Anwen Robinson said the deal highlights TechnologyOne’s rapid success in the UK and the momentum towards SaaS.
