In October 2022, Emburse announced the availability of Emburse Cards for UK-based SMBs through to enterprise organizations. These cards seamlessly integrate into Emburse's expense management solutions, providing straightforward issuance and management along with exceptional spend control. The cards deliver instant visibility into expenditures, facilitating more dynamic budget management and mitigating the risks of fraud and overspending. Employees have the convenience of using the Emburse Card to manage upfront expenses, eliminating the need to incur costs on personal cards and wait for reimbursement from their employer.

In April 2022, Emburse launched Emburse Go, a mobile travel companion designed to provide the best business travel experience by overseeing every aspect of a trip from start to finish. Extending beyond standard flight and hotel itinerary details, Emburse Go offers valuable location-based content to ensure travelers' safety, comfort, and productivity. Unlike traditional approaches where business travelers independently manage various aspects of their trips beyond transit and accommodation, Emburse Go enables employers to curate destination information and deliver contextual messaging. This not only meets employee expectations but also helps in reducing spend leakage and minimizing risks. Additionally, companies can use the app to track the carbon footprint of each trip and across their entire travel program. Tailored for small and medium-sized businesses, Emburse Go is built on the Emburse Go Premier (formerly Roadmap) award-winning corporate travel app, known for its use by millions of travelers in large enterprises such as Nike, Microsoft, and Merck.

In February 2021, Emburse has launched Emburse Cards for its Captio expense automation solution. Emburse Cards offers a user-friendly solution for employees to make purchases without requiring out-of-pocket spending. Employees can request prepaid virtual or cards for travel and other business purchases and have the peace of mind that all purchases will be within the organization’s spend policy.

In February 2020, Emburse launched Abacus Reach to streamline the process for non-employee expense reimbursement. Reach allowed organizations to easily provide non-employee travelers with a mobile app-based solution which made it simple to verify policy compliance, and capture and submit travel expenses in real-time.

Emburse Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities

In July 2023, Emburse finalized the acquisition of Tripbam, a Dallas-based startup whose tools are utilized by corporate travel managers. The specifics of the deal, including the price and terms, were not disclosed by the companies. As a venture-backed startup, Tripbam had previously secured $1.5 million in funding. Tripbam's software is designed to empower corporate travel managers and event planners to explore multiple airlines and hotels for reservations, capitalizing on price fluctuations. The software allows buyers to re-book at a lower price if a refundable booking experiences a price drop. The startup asserts that this process results in substantial savings across a significant number of searches.

In 2021, Emburse has taken two more providers under its corporate umbrella, acquiring travel management app developer Roadmap and corporate travel spending analytics specialist DVI in separate deals.

The acquisitions expand Emburse's capabilities to offer clients services around travel management and spending data, each of which will be areas of increased emphasis for corporates as business travel resumes in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Emburse CEO Eric Friedrichsen.
