InEight Strengths, Domain Expertise, and Key Differentiators

InEight's solutions, rooted in a legacy of construction and engineering expertise, enable companies to seamlessly visualize, estimate, manage, and control all facets of capital and maintenance projects. Offering customizable, integrated, and field-tested solutions, InEight empowers customers with the visibility and control necessary for achieving on-budget and on-time project completion, positioning the company as a formidable force in the market.

InEight Recent Developments

In February 2024, InEight unveils the relaunch of InEight Schedule, a construction capital project management software. This release represents a significant leap forward in collaborative construction planning, empowering teams to tackle complex projects, manage risk, and foster structured collaboration for precise, validated schedules.

In June 2022, InEight will elevate its project management platform with advanced subcontractor management, enhanced change-order processes, and sophisticated risk assessment tools. This development underscores InEight's commitment to innovation and strengthens its position as a provider of comprehensive project management solutions in the market.

In September 2021 InEight rolled out the first in a series of quarterly platform enhancements designed to enable deeper project insights. These innovations will include a full range of enhancements to its extensive portfolio of integrated construction project management solutions, which aim to improve productivity and strengthen collaboration for users. The first improvements focus is on short-interval planning (SIP) and subcontractor management. With the addition of SIP, InEight fills an industry gap with a digital approach to daily and weekly planning that traditionally has been the domain of the grease board in the job site trailer. Now, users can benefit from a more dynamic, real-time approach that integrates project planning at every level, from CPM schedules to engineering and construction work packages, and from short interval/look-ahead plans to daily crew plans. With InEight’s SIP, planning teams – including contractors and subcontractors – can collaborate frequently and from anywhere, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

In May 2021 InEight has introduced a time-phased budget and forecasting feature to InEight Control that will provide project teams with enhanced connected insights to help ensure construction projects stay on schedule and under budget. With a time-phased approach to budget and forecast, project stakeholders can proactively take control of financials with real-time data, rather than using traditional monthly processes that can deliver out-of-date information. Ultimately, project teams will be able to more accurately and efficiently track and predict costs, allowing them to mitigate risk, reduce manual data entry and the need for disparate systems, and receive timely payment.

InEight Control’s new time-phased feature will allow the budget to be aligned and tracked in any defined fiscal period to match required reporting. Project managers will be able to define budget distribution patterns using standard patterns or by creating custom cost curves, allowing the contractor improved visibility in specifying to the client when costs are incurred. The same monthly granularity will also be available for creating time-phased forecast values which can then be pushed over to the live forecast, adding to the set of methods provided to users to arrive at their forecasted values in InEight Control. Live forecast snapshots will be available on a monthly basis to review project performance. By acting as a single source of truth for time-phased budget and forecast information, and with full external ERP system integration, project teams will no longer need to maintain separate systems or spreadsheets. Data will be automatically connected and kept up to date, removing the need to manually re-perform calculations or update data come fiscal closing.

In February 2021 InEight introduced and enhancements to its planning, scheduling, and risk offering to deliver the most intelligent and multi-dimensional planning solution for capital projects. With increased infrastructure spending widely seen as a path to global economic recovery, the need among capital project owners and contractors for data-backed confidence around project cost and schedule is more important than ever before. Now InEight helps project managers, schedulers, workface planners and estimators remove risk from the bottom line and increase confidence with the most complete risk analytics toolbox on the market today. InEight Planning, Scheduling & Risk uses artificial intelligence (AI) and data from previous projects to identify threats in current projects and recommend risk mitigation strategies. The solution’s intuitive interface enables a seamless user experience that delivers clear and actionable insights on risk management.

InEight Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities

In October 2018, InEight acquired QA Software and the flagship product, TeamBinder, a document management and collaboration solution for the engineering and construction industry. In the following monthw, InEight acquired BASIS, a company that develops artificial intelligence (AI) construction planning software tool. Built specifically for capital projects, BASIS takes the guesswork out of building a project plan by using knowledge-driven machine learning to create more realistic and achievable project schedules.
