Celonis Strengths, Domain Expertise, and Key Differentiators
Celonis provides a comprehensive approach for process enhancement. It leverages multiple software technologies to reduce customer time and money spent to optimize process management. To generate predictive insights, Celonis uses a Machine Learning Workbench that is based on Python. It also has an AI-based Action Engine to generate intelligent process recommendations and a Process Automation component that automates customers’ workflows.
Celonis Recent Developments
Celonis received its Series D funding in June 2021, raising $ 1 Billion (USD), and increasing the overall value of the company to $11 Billion (USD). The company’s enterprise software supports process mining, analyzing data from a company’s event logs to identify problems with specific processes. The software takes the place of more lengthy process-mapping workshops. It works with a customer’s existing software, avoiding the replacement of the enterprise software that’s already in place.
In April 2021 Celonis launched a new set of execution apps and platform enhancements geared to eliminate billions of dollars in corporate inefficiencies. This Celonis launch addresses the primary barriers to removing process waste in core business functions. The new platform innovations help companies mine process data that proliferate across multiple systems, apps, devices, and machines. The Celonis Execution Apps then immediately begin to apply intelligence to this data and embed it into core business operations.
Celonis Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
Based in Munich (Germany), Celonis acquired Integromat of the Czech Republic in 2020. Celonix re-branded its offering as an execution management platform, following its Integromat acquisition. Coupled with its 2021 Series D funding, Celonis plans to enable its software to produce better recommendations and to take smarter decisions. Integromat produces automation tools that require little to no programming experience to use.

Celonis Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
Rapidly growing data, combined with event-driven applications, need faster analytics to uncover new business insights. Celonis is focused on this opportunity, but there is substantial competition in this market segment from other companies that are focused on making analytics more productive – and faster. Among the competitors: Good Data, ThoughtSpot, GitPrime, RStudio, and UiPath.
Celonis Risks and Challenges
With around 1,500 employees, Celonis must be careful to manage its own growth carefully. Its investors, including T. Rowe Price Associates, Franklin Templeton, Splunk, and others, expect to see strong results. However, in general, rapidly growing companies need to match their evolving infrastructure with their actual growth opportunities. Celonis must maintain its focus on the best areas for future growth. Because it is a European-based firm, Celonis has to manage its growth in the Americas and in Asia/Pacific – which typically have very different business environments than EMEA. So, its sales and go-to-market strategies need to be optimized to succeed in geographies outside EMEA (Americas and A/P).
Celonis Ecosystem, Partners, Resellers and SI

The partnership will combine ServiceNow’s leading low-code workflow platform with the real-time process execution capabilities of the Celonis Execution Management System (EMS). ServiceNow also intends to make a financial investment in Celonis. The companies will jointly deliver solutions to help customers identify and prioritize processes that are suitable for automation, then create digital workflows to optimize those processes for more seamless digital operations. Together, ServiceNow and Celonis will help customers more deeply understand how work moves across the enterprise and apply those insights to accelerate digital innovation and predict how to make work better.
