Domo Strengths, Domain Expertise, and Key Differentiators

Founded in 2010, Domo is shaking up the business intelligence market by offering users easy access to real-time data for improving operational performance and processes in each business function. Domo is a cloud-first, mobile-first platform designed to provide end-to-end analytics and BI functionality OR integrate into existing frameworks to solve more discrete data challenges such as building richer and more automated data pipelines. In other words, Domo can be used as the entire BI stack or be used to bridge gaps in existing infrastructure using components of the Domo platform.

With a focus on end-user self-service, the Domo Appstore provides hundreds of business apps (pre-packaged content and advanced visualizations) built by an expanding publisher ecosystem to help users get up and running quickly with their data in the platform, providing context to what the data means.

the Q322 was the 5th consecutive quarter of 25% billings growth and also achieving a customer retention rate of 90%.

Domo has also added advanced analytics features with Analyzer, a smart Alert Center, and Data Lineage to name a few. Domo's developer toolkit makes it easy for customers or partners to quickly build and deploy complex apps on top of the Domo platform.

Domo Recent Developments

In September 2021, Domo unveiled Sandbox, new development and testing environment built on the Domo platform, to help customers more easily create and promote content into production across the enterprise. Sandbox adds to Domo’s growing list of enterprise-strength capabilities that help customers more easily solve challenges that are common with the increased demand for large-scale BI and analytics deployments.

In March 2021, Domo unveiled over 100 new features to make it easier for everyone to understand, interact with, and leverage data. Included among these features are new augmented capabilities that reduce the technical barriers for any business decision-maker to be more data curious and more effectively put data to work.

Furthermore, in March 2021, Domo introduced the Industry’s first multi-cloud data offering for modern BI, giving business decision-makers a single interface from which they can leverage data across multiple cloud data platforms, without ever having to worry about where the data is coming from or what tools they must use to access it. This new offering will help customers overcome the challenges of data access and agility in today’s complex modern IT environments, in which new data sources are regularly being introduced and added, while the need for real-time actionable insights remains imperative for business decision-makers everywhere.

In March 2020, Domo launch new capabilities in the Domo Business Cloud, including automatic machine learning (AutoML), recommended actions, and drag-and-drop predictive model deployment through support for Amazon SageMaker Autopilot. Amazon SageMaker Autopilot is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) solution that automatically trains and tunes ML models based on data provided by a customer. Companies can now use their data in Domo as input into Amazon SageMaker Autopilot and automatically create the highest performing model and deploy a prediction pipeline that adapts to new, incoming data. The combination of Domo and Amazon SageMaker Autopilot helps make ML accessible to more employees and propels ML-driven insights for business. Auto ML also further extends Domo’s commitment to embracing and including preferred data science technologies such as Python, R, Jupyter, and now Sagemaker as first-class integrations into the Domo platform. Also in March Domo launched Domo’s COVID-19 products that use the Domo platform to help anyone see and understand COVID-19 data – including economic insights, National Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) data, mobility data by Google and Apple, and more – and embed any of the visualizations in their websites or operations. This data has been leveraged by nearly 800 Domo customers, and states such as Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado, wanting to ensure their key stakeholders understand the impact of COVID-19.

Also in 2020, Domo launched Publish 2.0, which goes beyond read-only embedded analytics to help organizations leverage their data assets to create new value and services with customers, partners, and vendors while reducing the administrative overhead of managing data-driven services outside the walls of its organization. Publish 2.0 delivers all of Domo’s platform capabilities as services through turnkey, brandable analytic portals or embedded self-service analytic suites and services within a customer’s own SaaS products to empower rich, new interactive, and collaborative data experiences to drive the business forward. Domo also released its Intelligent Application platform, which gives developers a powerful, but an easy-to-use framework to deliver fully branded, mobile-ready, massively scalable app experiences for every part of a business at a fraction of the investment traditionally required. This innovation includes all the services and features of the Domo platform, which help reduce the cost and complexity in building and deploying apps to teams or across entire organizations to make business processes more automated and intelligent. This also includes an entire suite of write-back capabilities that allow apps to send new or updated data to any system connected to Domo.

In October 2019, Domo released Domo for Square app, sellers that have multiple Square accounts receive consolidated reporting of all their Square data through a pre-built Domo experience that’s available to them on any device. Once the data is consolidated in Domo, sellers have a variety of interactive and powerful visualizations to better understand what’s happening across their business.
