Ericsson Strengths
ConceptWave acquisition complements and strengthens Ericsson's offering in the area of operations- and business support systems (OSS/BSS) with world leading Order Management and Product Catalog solutions, providing solutions to better support network operators with their handling of activities related to personalizing end-user offerings and revenue management solutions.
In October 2015, Ericsson acquired Envivio to further improve its television and media solutions.
This was a strategic move by Ericsson to bolster its support solutions segment, which includes OSS (operations support system) & BSS (business support system), television and media solutions as well as mobile commerce.
In April 2016, Ericsson has acquired NodePrime, a San Francisco-based startup that helps enterprises manage their data centers.
NodePrime’s employees will join Ericsson and the company plans to integrate NodePrime’s technology into its Hyperscale Datacenter System 8000 — its platform for automatically discovering, configuring and managing data center hardware.
Another pillar in the Ericsson product portfolio is the Apcera Platform, a highly secure, policy-driven software platform to empower a new era of application delivery and cloud economics for global enterprises and operators.
It is a connective fabric that enables deployment, orchestration, and governance of diverse application workloads—containers such as Docker, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) runtimes, and complete operating systems—across multiple cloud infrastructure assets including hybrid clouds, private clouds (such as those using OpenStack or VMware), and public clouds (for example, Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, and IBM SoftLayer).
The platform provides an extensive, open API to allow true integration into wider ecosystems of complementary services.
