FIS Global Recent Developments

In June 2017, FIS has enhanced its end-to-end suite of wealth management offerings with an advanced digital advice solution designed to help financial institutions and wealth advisors better serve their customers, grow their business and improve profitability.

The new solution uses robo-advisory and automation technology from Trizic to enable FIS clients to more cost-effectively manage smaller-balance accounts, attract tech-savvy millennials, and serve high-net-worth clients looking for access to sophisticated investment models through digital advice.

Several month later, FIS unveiled FIS Code Connect, its online gateway that allows FIS clients to access FIS application programming interfaces (APIs) for use in developing and testing innovative new solutions to better serve their customers, reduce costs and achieve their business goals. The initial launch of FIS Code Connect includes more than 300 APIs in the categories of banking, payments and consumer finance.

The newly launched gateway also provides access to innovative application use cases built on FIS open APIs, including FIS Enterprise Customer, Mobile Banking and Account Opening.

FIS Global Strengths

FIS is a provider of financial services technology, with a focus on retail and institutional banking, payments, asset and wealth management, risk and compliance, consulting, and outsourcing solutions.

In 2015, FIS finalized a reorganization and began reporting its financial performance based on three segments: Integrated Financial Solutions (IFS), Global Financial Solutions (GFS) and Corporate and Other. SunGard, having completed a spate of divestitures including its Availability Services unit in 2014, sharpened its focus on the Cloud.

By delivering financials, treasury and risk management as well as trade processing applications over the private Cloud, FIS has been serving a range of clients including major banks, top asset managers and some of the largest private-equity firms and insurance companies.

Increasingly FIS is leveraging the wealth of information that it has been aggregating on behalf of its clients and making it available on a real-time basis. For example, FIS is working with Finra, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, to generate analytics insights into mountains of transactional data that cross the wires of FIS’ financial-services clients in order to help them better meet the new compliance requirements.

Every month FIS handles 35 billion shares over its trading connectivity network, while processing for more than 325 million securities finance accounting transactions in a given year. It's that kind of workload that enables FIS to position itself as one of the largest private-Cloud applications vendors in the world.
