In March 2018, Granicus acquiried Accela’s Legislative Management business. Legislative Management arm, one of Accela’s nine business units — is dedicated to helping governments streamline legislative meetings, from document creation to video presentation, and other aspects, according to Accela’s site. Per the terms of the deal, Granicus will assume control of the contracts of the 450 customers Accela’s business currently has, along with its assets — which include public sector meeting software that enables government to manage public meetings and engage citizens in civic processes.
