MercuryGate International Recent Developments
In February 2020, MercuryGate released Total Transport Leverage (TTL), a combination of feature-rich functionality and usability designed to address the growing automation complexities that transportation leaders face. TTL goes beyond traditional transportation automation to better enable supply chain professionals to leverage time, people, information, opportunity, efficiency, and innovation. “The verdict is in – a strong union of power and usability built on a purpose-built architecture is a competitive must-have in 2020 for transportation leaders to win as they address an increasingly complex, globally competitive marketplace,” said MercuryGate President & CEO Joe Juliano. “That means solving the traditional TMS trade-off dilemma and addressing domestic and global supply chain complexities with the best of both worlds – power and usability. In 2017, MercuryGate enhanced its comprehensive global offering through an OEM agreement with Integration Point. As a result, customers have the capability of continuous screening and access to comprehensive denied party sources, enabling more efficient execution of this important aspect of managing global shipments. In the same period, MercuryGate launched MercuryMaestro, an innovative, advanced business intelligence (BI) platform, designed specifically to enhance the value and visual presentation of data captured within MercuryGates TMS solutions.
In September 2017, the company launched MercuryFleet, an innovative product designed to combine fleet and freight management for all modes of transportation in one platform for significant cost savings and operational efficiencies. Earlier in May, MercuryGate launched ezVision. This user experience for the MercuryGate TMS solutions is designed to make transportation management easier, faster, and more dynamic. By providing customers with quick access to the most critical and frequent functions done on a day-to-day basis, ezVision creates a workflow that maximizes user efficiency.
MercuryGate International Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
In April 2021, MercuryGate acquired logistics optimization leader Cheetah Software Systems (Cheetah). The Cheetah acquisition extends MercuryGate’s TMS platform to deliver both a last mile, parcel and less-than-truckload (LTL) solution and an enhanced fleet management capability that adapts, automates and communicates movements in real-time.
In July 2019, MercuryGate acquired TranSolutions, Inc., provider of transportation-centric claims management software. Founded in 1997, TranSolutions is a premier vendor of freight claim management software revolutionizing the logistics software industry with the introduction of myEZClaim, the freight claim software. The acquisition instantly enriches MercuryGate’s TMS portfolio with expansion into freight claim management solutions delivered on an integrated platform.
In August 2018, Summit Partners, equity investor acquired MercuryGate International.

MercuryGate International Risks and Challenges
After being acquired by Summit Partners in August 2018, as a part of this transition, Monica Wooden, Co-founder, and CEO transitioned into a customer-facing role at the company as Chief Revenue Officer, while Co-founder and President Steve Blough continued on as Chief Product Officer. Joe Juliano, an Executive-in-Residence (“EIRâ€) with Summit Partners and software industry leader, will join MercuryGate as President and CEO and will work closely with Monica and Steve to drive growth and scale initiatives.
Despite being a cloud-based SaaS provider, MercuryGate has suffered from a reputation for being difficult to implement and not efficiently managing its backlog of new customers.
In 2015, JB Hunt sued MercuryGate for $3.1M over a failed two-year-long implementation process; although MercuryGate counter-sued for $5M, the suit was quickly resolved when both parties settled. The settlement terms were not publicly disclosed, but the sources close to JB Hunt told FreightWaves that the outcome was positive for JB Hunt.
