In July 2019, Spin, the Ford-owned dockless electric scooter company has joined Passport’s micro-mobility pilot program to test a scooter parking model for Spin’s electric scooter fleets in Charlotte, Detroit, and Omaha. Through this pilot program, Passport has helped automate, measure, and enforce a model for scooter parking. With this solution, the cities can maintain visibility and control over scooter deployments and better manage their curbs, while enabling mobility providers like Bird, Lime, Spin and Razor to more flexibly and conveniently manage their fleets.
In January 2019, Passport announced that it has appointed Brian V. Mooney to its board of directors. Mooney, respected financial services and payment technology veteran, will help advise Passport through continued growth and expansion of its payments offering.
Passport Labs, Inc. Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
In June 2019, Passport reported the acquisition of a parking enforcement company, Complus Data Innovations (Complus). Together with Complus, Passport helps nearly 1,000 clients manage more than 15 million feet of curbside space, the distance from Los Angeles to New York City, through its technology to regulate the access and collect digital payments for public parking, transit, and tolling systems. Complus help Passport strengthens its parking enforcement product, a foundational element of the company’s parking management solutions.
In October 2018, Passport acquired NuPark, a leading parking management technology company. NuPark’s advanced LPR-based enterprise management solution for enforcement and permitting will help complement the Passport’s strong base of mobile payment solutions to create a comprehensive mobility platform.
