Taulia Recent Developments

In April 2021, Taulia has launched a new inventory management product as it seeks new ways to release capital tied up in physical supply chains. The company historically provides payables and receivables financing, but tells GTR ahead of the launch that expanding into inventory financing will enable Taulia to provide its global customer base with solutions that cover all three areas of the cash conversion cycle.

In 2020, Taulia launched of Rapid Start Invoicing, a solution to support businesses affected by COVID-19. Rapid Start Invoicing, which can be implemented within seven days, will help businesses respond to the disruption by giving their suppliers the capability to submit invoices electronically and enabling the business to keep accounts payable (AP) processes going and pay invoices on time.

In October 2019, Talua launched new AI-powered cash forecasting solution which gives treasurers greater accuracy in their forecasts, as well as reducing the effort involved in this challenging activity.

Taulia Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities

In March 2022, SAP completed the acquisition of a majority stake of Taulia. The acquisition further expands SAP’s business network and strengthens SAP’s solutions for the CFO office. During the first half of 2021, Taulia added 11 major banks as funders to its multi-funder platform, including SEB, Bradesco, DBS and CoBank, cementing its position at the forefront of the industry. The addition of these funding partners will enable the fintech to access an ever larger and more diverse pool of funding, while offering greater choice and availability to its clients globally.

Taulia is trusted by over 120 of the world’s largest companies with clients including Airbus, AstraZeneca, Nissan, Telstra, the UK Government’s Crown Commercial Services and Vodafone. Talua also signed new customers across five continents including landmark GBP30m UK Government’s procurement framework contract (Crown Commercial Services), Rio Tinto, Sasol, and Telstra.

Taulia Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions

In May 2021, Taulia announced that its product integration, Taulia for SAP 3.0.5, has achieved SAP certification as integrated with SAP S/4HANA. Taulia’s integration with SAP enables customers to transform their financial ecosystem by providing real-time insights and facilitating the seamless transfer of large volumes of data.

In March 2021, U.S. fintech firm Taulia secured more than $6 billion in funding from a financing consortium led by JPMorgan. The consortium will include European lenders UniCredit, UBS and BBVA, Taulia said in a statement.

In February 2021, Taulia expanded its footprint in Asia, appointing a new country head for China and establishing a presence in both China and Singapore. Taulia has appointed Haiyan Zhuang to set up and strengthen its move into China. Zhuang, who is based in Shanghai, joins from technology-as-a-service firm OneConnect Smart Technology, where he held the position of head of supply chain fintech.

Taulia rounded off a year of spectacular growth marked by numerous high-profile achievements including accelerating $24bn in early payments, doubling from $12bn in 2017, and expanding its network by over 1m to over 5.2m connections globally. The company also announced that it was opening its first Asia Pacific office in Sydney, Australia, with plans to expand the team rapidly during 2019.

Taulia believes that by connecting businesses globally and putting the supply chain at the core of business strategy, trillions of dollars in working capital can be unlocked, ultimately raising global GDP. In 2019, Taulia partnered with Google Cloud to Launch AI-powered Invoicing Solution. Cognitive Invoicing enables businesses to process invoices in any file format from their suppliers. The solution leverages the optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities of Google Cloud’s Document Understanding AI to read and interpret unstructured supplier invoice data in Taulia’s global invoicing platform.
