Desire2Learn sells Cloud-based learning applications, which have attracted over 1.150 clients in higher education, K-12, healthcare, government and the corporate sector. D2L is the creator of Brightspace, an online teaching and learning platform.

In July 2014, D2L announces it is supercharging its ILP by providing groundbreaking new features and partnerships designed to peronalize education and eliminate the achievement gap. D2L ILP provides full integration of its adaptive learning solutions (D2L LeaP), more robust analytics, game-baseb learning, an expanded mobile offering with Windows 8 capabilities ant the newes education content all within a single, open platform.

It also announcet that tis ILP has been branded as Brightspace, industry's most complete solutions for integrated learning with support for over 100 new applications. The Brightspace platform is further enhanced by various tier one partnerships also announced that D2L has partnered with IBM to embed its Cognos business intelligence engine into D2L Insights and that has collaborated with Microsoft to expand its mobile offering with a Windows 8 mobile app for D2L Binder.

Also in June 2015, D2L unveils the newest version of its Brightspace Insights analytics suite, marking a significant step forward in technology's role in advancing learning globally. With this release, D2L is the first LMS provider to aggregate and capture streamed student data from across the entire learning ecosystem (including learning apps, content publishers, online tools and different learning management systems) and empower instructors to act on one complete view of the student at the moment of learning.
