TruBridge (Formerly Computer Programs and Systems) Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions

In March 2022, CPSI completed the acquisition of Healthcare Resource Group (HRG), headquartered in Spokane, Washington. HRG specializes in tailored revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions and consulting services, empowering hospitals and clinics to enhance efficiency, profitability, and patient satisfaction. With a workforce of around 400 professionals, HRG serves 77 healthcare clients, predominantly situated in the Pacific Northwest and Southwest regions. These clients include academic medical centers, tribal organizations, and independent hospitals with over 200 beds. The integration of HRG with TruBridge will strategically position the combined entity to meet the escalating demand from healthcare organizations seeking to outsource revenue cycle operations.

In August 2020 CPSI started working with Google Cloud to utilize its cloud platform services. This transition will leverage Google Cloud’s platform to support CPSI’s ongoing product innovation and speed‑to-market with new offerings and enhance performance for existing applications delivered by the CPSI family of companies. Leveraged across acute, ambulatory and post-acute care settings, the efficiencies gained with moving to Google Cloud’s platform are intended to make system training and delivery of enhancements much easier for clients, which, considering the resource constraints and pressures that are prevalent today in healthcare, is critical to their success.

TruBridge (Formerly Computer Programs and Systems) Risks and Challenges

There are a limited number of hospitals in CPSI's target market. Saturation or consolidation in the healthcare industry could result in the loss of existing clients, a reduction in their potential client base and downward pressure on the prices of CPSI's products and services.

The limited number of hospitals with 200 or fewer acute care beds in their general target market for their acute care product and service offerings has resulted in an ever narrowing market for new system installations which could materially and adversely impact their business, financial condition and operating results. In addition, the market for their products and services is competitive, and the company must expect additional competition from established and emerging companies in the future. Their market is characterized by rapidly changing technology, global shifts in the healthcare system, evolving user needs and impactful regulatory and reimbursement changes.

TruBridge (Formerly Computer Programs and Systems) Ecosystem, Partners, Resellers and SI

Throughout 2021, CPSI established a strategic alliance with Microsoft to leverage Azure cloud hosting and infrastructure services. The overarching objective of this collaboration is to facilitate the seamless transition of all existing internal and client data to Azure's public cloud. By harnessing Azure's infrastructure solutions, both internal operations and client-facing services are slated for enhancement. The gradual migration to Azure, initiated in 2022, promises significant advantages for customers. Notably, it alleviates the responsibility of maintaining on-premise infrastructure, ensuring heightened availability and stability of underlying applications, thereby minimizing unexpected downtime. Moreover, this modernized infrastructure lays the groundwork for future innovations and improved data accessibility.
