dormakaba Group Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In April 2021, the Board of Directors of dormakaba has appointed Sabrina Soussan as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Group. She succeeded Riet Cadonau, who remained in the company as a Chairman. Sabrina Soussan has been Co-CEO of Siemens Mobility, a leading supplier of transport solutions headquartered in Munich, since 2017, and held several leadership positions in Siemens’ mobility, building technologies, and automotive businesses.
Companies use a wide range of hardware platforms, network technologies, operating systems, and software applications for their IT structures. Organisation and production sequences are often supplemented by systems for time and attendance, shop floor data collection and access control.
The integration platform B-COMM has been developed for integrating all data collection processes into the IT structures. Programmed in modern Java architecture, it allows communication between the recording terminals and the software applications, independently of the computer or operating system platforms.
The decisive advantage of these features is that the interface to the partner's application needs to be programmed only once and can still be used on all platforms. Furthermore, the individual B-COMM modules and the software applications can also be installed on different computers.
dormakaba Group Risks and Challenges
After merging with Dorma to form dorma+kaba Group in 2016, optimizing the economy of scale is still a work in progress since branding of Dorma and Kaba remains fairly distinct.
Meanwhile cloud migration for its technology division may take some time because of its large installed base of legacy systems for access control and workforce management.
