ELMO Software Recent Developments
In September 2021, ELMO Software launched a new module enabling businesses to automate secure record-keeping of employees’ COVID-19 vaccination and test status.
ELMO Software Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Activities
In February 2018, ELMO acquired Pivot Software, a provider of remuneration software in Australia and New Zealand. Approximately 80% of companies across Australia and New Zealand use inefficient spreadsheets and antiquated methods to manage remuneration management processes such as salaries, bonuses, complex short-term incentives (STI) and complex long-term incentives (LTI).
Following this acquisition, ELMO will now be able to provide our customers with an automated solution to manage remuneration issues, relieving HR administrators of complex and time-intensive tasks.
ELMO plans to offer a dedicated remuneration module which provides high-quality reporting within a single integrated platform. Remuneration is highly complementary to our existing Performance and Rewards modules, all accessible from one vendor, one dashboard, and one user experience.

ELMO Software Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In May 2020, ELMO Cloud HR & Payroll (ELMO), Australia and New Zealand’s cloud-based HR, payroll and rostering / time & attendance software provider, launched its latest module, ‘ELMO Connect’. The new module provides customers with a one-stop-shop to start instant chat messages, launch Zoom meetings and manage the array of HR and payroll requirements.
By posting high double-digit growth rates on a consistent basis over the past few years, ELMO is poised to grow further as the leading integrated cloud HR & payroll solutions provider across Australia and New Zealand.
ELMO Cloud HR & Payroll has released a suite of new video and online content to its course library, adding to the hundreds of online and video courses that are already available. The course library has been expanded to help businesses keep their staff skilled as more workers are asked to work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of workers undertaking their roles at home is likely to continue to increase with both the Australian and New Zealand Governments urging people to work from home if they can.
ELMO recently completed a $45 million capital raise. Proceeds from the placement will be used to fund future acquisitions, strengthen the balance sheet and also support ongoing research and development, sales and marketing efforts, and general corporate purposes.
In 2017, ELMO acquired Sky Payroll, PeoplePulse and LiveSalary, enabling its clients integrated, cloud-based HR and payroll solution from one single provider. Earlier, in 2016, ELMO acquired Techniworks, an e-learning solutions content provider with heavy emphasis on the public sector. Recently ELMO has hired corporate advisory firm Blackpeak Capital to help it expand as it contemplates plans to go public, according to press reports.
ELMO Software Risks and Challenges
The purchase of Techniworks underscores ELMO's desire to expand its product portfolio especially for eLearning, which entails incorporating other content libraries and software assets from third party providers.
