Rippling Strengths, Domain Expertise, and Key Differentiators
Rippling is an all-in-one HR software designed to unify all HR systems and processes for US companies with between 2 and 500 employees. Rippling can connect to software and apps that companies already have and syncs data across all of these systems to keep data up-to-date throughout the entire organization. To ensure accurate data, Rippling offers a self-service portal and mobile app so that employees can monitor and correct any errors that occur with their information.
Rippling doesn’t just simplify HR processes and sync with other HR software systems. It also is able to integrate with IT systems so that Rippling can do the same for the IT department that it does for HR. It simplifies and automates processes and syncs information to all connected systems.
Rippling Recent Developments
In October 2021 Rippling launched Rippling Inventory Management, which founder and CEO Parker Conrad is touting as the “world’s first cloud IT closet.”
The dashboard enables businesses to automatically store, ship, and retrieve employee computers in a way that is remote and hands-free. Rippling stores and monitors company devices so they no longer need an “IT closet” on-site or utilize an employee’s home. Rippling also manages the logistics related to the devices, including wiping and assigning devices and issuing prepaid mailers for machines that need to be returned. Customers pay a per employee, per month fee to use the dashboard to hire, or fire employees, and set up all of the apps (and access) that the employee will need on their computer. In addition, the user can see all of the outstanding shipments and where they are in the process of being delivered or returned.
In October 2018, Rippling has launched an all-in-one HRIS, payroll, and benefits system for small and midsize businesses, combined with identity management software and a device management system.

Rippling Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions
In October 2021 Rippling closed on $250 million in fresh funding led by Sequoia Capital Global Equities and Global Growth, with participation from earlier backers Greenoaks, Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Initialized, YC, and Threshold Ventures.
They build new business lines in-house. Rippling isn’t an acquisitive outfit. That compound approach also enables Rippling to sell a bundled system of its offerings to customers on a mostly per-seat basis. And it means more diversified revenue. Rippling — which sells to teams as small as two people and as large as 1,000-plus — has more than doubled its number of customers over the last year and that it now enjoys 2.7 times the annual recurring revenue it saw a year ago, though he declines to be more specific about actual figures.
In August 2020, Rippling, raised a $145 million Series B financing round, thrusting the human resources software company into unicorn status with a new $1.35 billion valuation.
Rippling will use the new capital, led by the San Francisco-based venture capital firm Founders Fund, primarily to shore up its cash position and hedge against any future disastrous macroeconomic risks, though some funding will go toward research and development.
Previously, Rippling had received more than $60 million in funding from top-name investors Kleiner Perkins, Initialized Capital and Y Combinator. In 2019, after its Series A, the company was reportedly valued at $270 million, which puts the latest valuation at an increase of five times. The total funding to date is over $205 million.
