Sage Strengths

With millions of customers around the world, Sage is one of the largest ERP applications vendors targeting small and medium sized companies.

In 2017, Sage acquired Intacct for $850 million, boosting its Cloud accounting apps offerings.

That adds to a growing list of Cloud applications that Sage carries from Sage One on the low end to Sage X3 for some of biggest midmarket customers.

Sage Live, which has been developed by using the Salesforce platform, is on track to secure more than 1,000 customers by end of 2017.

In 2017, Sage also announced acquisitions of Fairsail for its HCM applications and Compass for eCommerce analytics.

Over the past year, Sage has been placing greater emphasis on customer engagement with the building of major customer support centers in Atlanta and Dublin, Ireland.

At the same time it continues to expand its core accounting, payroll and payments business, especially Sage X3 and 300c that appeal to midmarket companies with international demands. Its Cloud applications including Sage One, which has secured more than 300,000 customers with plans to top one million over the next few years; as well as Sage Live, which has been launched in the US market first in July 2015, as well as a host of country-specific SaaS products are all designed to instill new energy and innovation into a vendor that has been on a transformation journey.

Since the joining of its new group CEO Stephen Kelly in November 2014, Sage has experienced considerable changes to its vision and structure.

Now Sage revolves around a global operating model, as opposed to the past practice of running marketing and product management programs at a country or regional level.

Today, Sage stresses global branding, streamlined decision making as well as product consolidating with specific goals to rid itself the pricey ERP baggage that may put off its new and existing customers.

As a result, Sage is leaner and more agile, not too different from the key constituents among the tens of millions of SMBs that it wants to serve.
